CHAPTER 20|PYGMALION

"Oh, by the way, Lucifer escaped from the academy" Sabrina casually brings up

Lilith looks at us in panic "what? The dark lord is free, and you didn't tell me?"

Sabrina shrugs "I had other things on my mind" and I snort quietly, looking up at caliban he smiles down at me and I smile back

Sabrina looks to me "we need to make our way back" and I nod as I go to leave

Caliban goes to hold my hand

And it all goes in slow motion

I wasn't sure what was happening, but as he goes to hold my hand I feel a burning sensation on it, I begin to shout as he lets go and I fall to the floor panting, I see mild scorch marks on my hand as I look up to caliban in pain

Was this god? I couldn't even touch him?

Then I remember all the times I had been close to him, touching him

No, this is something else

I think back to what could've been done about this as I finally realise

"Pagans" I say as I look to sabrina

"It's the pagans, there was that woman who was asking about my husband

She knew I had been close to caliban, and she said some words a-and, oh my gods" Sabrina holds my hand and walks to Lilith

"Can you fix this?" Lilith nods her head and heals it for me, a sense of relief coming over me

I look at caliban and he looks at me in confusion "husband? Pagans? What-"

I look at him "it really is a long long story" and he can only nod his head

"We have to go"

TIME SKIP~

After a near death experience both with my hand and the hedge witches, and a dash of awkwardness from Nick and Sabrina we finally rest, watching prudence give sabrina romantic advice

Ya know, me and Sabrina may be the biggest romantic fuck ups of the world

I mean I accidentally created a god thats going to kill everybody

And her boyfriend had the dark lord inside of him

As for as meeting the parents for that's probably the worst

I see Sabrina step up and I follow and she goes to speak

"So, we need a way to help you and Roz from the pagans, luckily I think only skin on skin only affects you" she hands me back my black jumper I had from before to go over my dress and I smile

"It's an interesting curse to say the least, they really aren't happy I broke up with their god" and we both laugh

TIME SKIP~

We make our way to Harvey's garage and I see the whole group, we finally catch up and address everything's that happened

Robins a pagan too, cool

He looks to me to explain "they hope to sacrifice you first, as well as the virgin sacrifice I mentioned before, your blood was used to strengthen him and they need you again" I frown at this before continuing, a pain in my chest when I see billy and the boys as pigs

I may not have liked billy in that way, but he was still my friend

Sabrina starts "ok, so there's still enough time to stop the pagans and save Roz"

Harvey seems fed up "how are you going to do that sabrina? You don't have any powers"

Before I could speak I am cut off "perhaps I can help"

I turn to smile and see caliban

Wearing a shirt!

I walk up to him as I hear Harvey behind me "what the hell is he doing here?" And Sabrina speaking after "if this is about the third challenge I swear-"

I cut both of them off "please stop, he said he can help"

They stay silent as caliban speaks "I came to make a proposal, away from the gates of hell,

If my queen, and more importantly her courtier, were to entertain the idea, I would help your friend"

I look to sabrina and say nothing

It's your call

"What do you know about turning stone to flesh?" Sabrina asks him

He simply smiles "I'm made of clay, remember" and I grin

"He has a point"

He continues "There's a spell, a Pygmalion spell, that will turn her to flesh"

I look at him "do you know it?" And he looks to me "not by heart no, I'd have to find it, if you came with me, I could outline my proposal"

I turn to sabrina "if he can help Roz-"

She sighs "fine, we'll do it" he raises his hands and we are engulfed in flames

TIME SKIP~

I watch as i sit down in the library of Baxter high, caliban gives her a note

"Go to hell and find this book, whilst we wait id like to speak to Eden" Sabrina stops for a second before turning and going, not saying a word

Caliban sits down besides me as a silence fills the room

I'm the first to speak

"So, why do they call it a Pygmalion spell?"

He looks to me "you don't know the myth of Pygmalion?" I can only shake my head as I urge him to continue

"He was a sculptor, who carved a woman out of ivory, Pygmalion fell in love with the statue, wished her alive.

He made an offering to the gods, promised he would give up his greatest love, sculpting, and in exchange when Pygmalion kissed the statue she turned to flesh"

I can only sit and cry when I hear that story

"That's beautiful" is all I manage to choke out

Caliban goes to grab my hand but I flinch and remember what happened last time

He lets me cry a bit before continuing

"There was another myth, that it had been done before, but it went wrong because someone tried to do it themself

Do you know anything about it?"

I silently nod before bursting into another round of tears, resting on calibans shirt as I cry more
