Chapter 1: The New Nation

It's been nearly four years since the Monsters have been released from their prison. However, things weren't going as planned. Frisk was working hard to restore peace between Humans and Monsters, which was established very quickly in Ebott, where 90% of Monsters reside. However, outside of Ebott, the hate between the two sentient species still exists.

However, the tensions have reached one individual, Colorado governor, Jared Polis. Polis is well disliked by the public, due to him having liberal views, and rumors were circulated during his campaign, he aimed to further improve the protection for Monsters, by passing new laws.

Since Ebott is in conservative country, Polis is easily hated among the public. They allowed some liberal views, thanks to Frisk, but things were changing. In 2018, a ballot by previous Colorado governor, John Hickenlooper, states that Colorado would leave the United States union entirely, forming the Allied States of America. Other states were free to join if they had a big Monster population spike. Kansas and Nebraska have had minor Monster presence recently. Some cities, like Omaha, Topeka, and Wichita, are accepting Monsters with open arms, while others won't allow them.

The ballot went through, and it was expected to take into action in late May.

The sun soon began to rise. American flags were immediately replaced by the Allied flags, which resembled the American flag. The thirteen stripes represent it's former history, especially in the United States' youth during it's teenage rebellion against the British. Instead of 50 stars in the canton, the Delta Rune took its place.

The Dreemurr children woke up a bit earlier than their normal intended time, as they had to do yardwork, assigned by Asgore himself. Since Develyn was physically stronger than Frisk and Asriel, he manned the lawn mower, while Frisk and Asriel took care of the weeds. Develyn, now 12, has been respected by many Monsters. He's fully aware of his power, which has gotten more powerful in recent years.

He became a full member of the Dreemurr family during June 2016, which was something he was happy about. Before he got adopted, he enjoyed living in Toriel's house because he was being treated right. Not to mention, he built great relationships with Asriel and Frisk, who Asriel easily took as his own sibling. Develyn treats Asriel like his own brother, as Develyn also treats Frisk like his own sister. But Develyn also treats his new siblings, Dark and Dawn, like they're his own siblings as well.

Develyn did name the Dreemurr twins after all.

As for Asriel, he's gotten more tougher, mentally and physically. His injury of legs he endured a few years earlier gave him PTSD, or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. This nullified the nightmares he had as Flowey, even though Flowey obtained physical form three years ago before being burned to ash by Develyn. Asriel recently underwent treatment with a licensed therapist to calm his issues. His magic has manifested greatly, as he is able to master the weapon part of Conjuration, the art of summoning weapons and dangerous beings from Oblivion.

For Frisk, she's worked hard to maintain peace between humans and Monsters, she use to get bullied at school, but the bullying stopped with help from Develyn.

The yardwork took a while. Once Develyn finished mowing the lawn and Asriel and Frisk finished plucking the weeds, Asgore got to weed-whacking. After the weed-whacking, Asriel used the leaf blower to dispose of the remaining blades of grass. By lunch, the job was done.

"I'm tired," Develyn stated.

"I guess you should let Sans know to do the thing tomorrow," Asgore noted.

"I guess," Develyn added.

Toriel soon got back from her job. She knew the kids were tired.

"I see three children who are insanely tired," Toriel noted.

"Tell me about it, mom. It was hot today," Asriel added.

"This is why we woke up in the morning. If we did it in the afternoon, there would be some serious problems," Asgore noted.

"Your father makes a very valid point, Asriel," Toriel noted.

The family went around to having lunch. Toriel decided to make grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, which got positive reviews. Eventually, the kids decided to spend time in certain areas. While Frisk spent time in the living room, Asriel and Develyn spent time outside.

They went out to the park near the house. It wouldn't be long until they saw the Allied flag waving in the air.

"Huh... Guess they finally got it done," Asriel noted.

"Yeah, it's about time your kind gets treated with respect. You've been in the Underground for how long?" Develyn asked.

"Four millennia? I'm not entirely sure," Asriel answered.

"Well, at least your out here," Develyn added. The two sat around for a several moments, until Toriel contacted them to get home rather urgently.

"What's the issue?" Develyn asked.

"Apparently, there is a killer on the loose. This killer is so dangerous, going outside isn't recommended unless you have magic or a firearm," Toriel answered.

"Oh jeez," Develyn mumbled.

"The police are actively looking for this person, but even officers won't bring it down," Toriel added.

"You're doing in spite of our safety," Develyn added.

"I am. I know your magic is strong, but I don't know how strong this person is," Toriel added.

It wouldn't be long until a Civil Emergency Message would be broadcast.

"This message is per request of the mayor of Ebott County. A dangerous individual is on the loose, with magical power exceeding that of a human and possibly that of a Monster. We advise everyone to stay in their homes, and not to come out unless they have a firearm or they know their magic is stronger than the killer," the message noted in a monotone voice.

"Well, I guess Sans can teleport me to the Ruins, if it seems fit," Devleyn noted.

The Dreemurrs continued on their day taking the message with a grain of salt, as they know their life would be changing very rapidly in the next few days. Develyn broke the announcement that Asriel's horns were finally starting to come in during dinner. The children went to bed early, with Develyn already having a large day in front of him.
