The next day soon came. The town officials have raised Bête's bounty to $750,000. Now, they're saying that she should be executed on sight, giving leeway to the citizens. Despite these changes, people are having a hard time going after her. She did a small attack on a nieghborhood, killing 25 people.
She plans to attack the school next, where summer programs are still going strong, despite the criminal being at large. Develyn got word about this in his dreams. Bête Noire plans to use these whispy, dark creatures, known as dementors. Dementors are foul wraith-like creatures that use to be the prison guards of the famous wizard prison of Azkaban until 1998. They're depressed creatures, sucking off the happiness from individuals with happy emotions. On definite take away from these foul fiends, however, is that they can suck out a person's SOUL if they wanted to. Most humans turn into a vegitative state, while others simply pass. The "Dementor's Kiss", as stated when they suck out the human's SOUL, is a fate worse than death.
Develyn plans to curb her attack of the school, but Andy could be a useful ally with him knowing about his past.
Develyn and Andy went to Timberfield Park, which is also the park Develyn, Frisk, and Asriel would do their training sessions.
"This is an open space. Why here, rather than the house?" Andy asked.
"Some of these spells that you're doing in your dreams are insanely powerful. They damage the surrounding environment if it's not used carefully. It's best if we start something that has a purpose. I received a dream where Bête Noire will begin a large scale attack at the school, and will use these whispy, wraith-like creatures called dementors," Develyn answered.
"She recruited those guys now? Unbelieveable," Andy asked.
"Yup. This spell is the best method to defeat a dementor. It is known as the Patronus Charm. There are two kinds, the normal, which can ward off a dementor, while another one is more powerful and can affect multiple dementors, as well as last longer. This is called the True Patronus, which can only be achieved if the user finds their most happiest memory.
"But before we get to do any of that, we need to get you a wand. I have a selection of five wands to choose from. Why do I have so many? It's because the wand chooses the user," Develyn noted.
Andy soon picked one of the five wands that Develyn brought. He gave it a flick, but that resulted in a tree falling over across the field.
"Yup, definitely not that one," Develyn noted, taking the wand and putting it back in the box. Andy soon tried another wand. He gave that a flick, which resulted in a bird exploding.
"Oh my, God. I'm SO sorry!" Andy exclaimed.
"Not that one either. That poor bird," Develyn added.
Andy soon tried a third wand. He felt a force within this wand. The wand emitted a light from the tip. "This is the one, isn't it?" Andy asked.
"Yup. That's the one. As stated before, the wand chooses the wizard," Develyn answered. "Right, now that we have that out of the way, now to the matter at hand. This spell is known as the Patronus Charm. This spell is fairly advanced. 15 year olds are required to learn it, yet one of the greatest wizards of all time learned it when he was 13. This spell wards off the dementor, but it doesn't do much. Now, repeat the incantation: Expecto Patronum."
"Expecto Patronum," Andy responded.
"Good. This box contains a dementor in it, but it's a special kind to where if you fail, it'll be brought back into the box," Develyn added. Develyn opened the box. The dementor soon exited the box. The immeidiate effects of the dementor were noted immediately. The grass surrounding Develyn and Andy began to die, and the weather was beginning to turn gloomy.
Andy tried to speak the incantation, but his thick Spanish accent kept getting the way. The dementor attempted to suck out the happiness from Andy, but Develyn brought it back into the box.
"That was, so strange," Andy added. Develyn threw Andy a chocolate bar.
"To regain your strength, these things also make you weak," Develyn noted.
"I was just about to ask about that," Andy added, taking a bite off the chocolate bar.
The two waited for a little bit until Andy was ready to try again.
"Here we go. Focus on it," Develyn added.
Andy tried again, but with a little bit of searching his mind, he found what he needed. "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" Andy yelled. A whispy white light emerged from Andy's wand, which held the dementor back.
"YES! Brilliant!" Develyn shouted. Andy soon got the dementor back in the box, which Develyn sealed tight.
"That was incredible," Andy noted.
"It was. I might teach you another spell while you're at it. It's pretty easy and straighforward. It's called the wand-lighting charm, or the incantation: Lumos. This lights the tip of your wand and acts as a torch. Lumos lights the wand up, while Nox puts the light out," Develyn explained. Andy tried a few runs of the spell to get a grasp. It was pretty easy and straightforward for him.
The two eventually went home, as lunch was ready for the both of them and they didn't wanna miss it.
Andy is one step closer to becoming a poweful wizard, as well as one step closer to defeating Bête Noire.
