I bet you're wondering what Gossip Girl is doing up so early. Truth is: I never went to bed.

Why waste precious time dreaming when waking life is so much better? Is there really anything better than a lazy Sunday?

Reading the paper in bed, sipping coffee, scrambling an egg or two.

Yeah, right. We Upper East Siders don't do lazy: Breakfast is brunch and it comes with champagne, a dress code and a hundred of our closest friends... and enemies.

Chuck's dad Bart Bass is hosting the annual brunch for his foundation.

Everyone is invited. Well, not everyone.

I groan as the sound of my phone ringing waking me from my dreams.

"Hello?" I answer groggily.

"Are you just now getting up? London you do realize brunch starts in thirty minutes." Nate tells me through the phone.

"I had a long night. But I am up as we speak and am getting ready so thank you for this wake up call but your services are not needed my dear friend."

I tell him as I run around my room finding an outfit for Bart Bass's brunch.

"That sounds very believable." Nate chuckles into the phone "Anyway... I guess I'll see you shortly."

"Yeah...and Nate.. I need to tell you something at brunch" I speak into the phone.

I figured Nate deserved a heads up before I told Blair about what happened between us.

Nate seemed unfazed and ended the call so I could finish getting ready.

After another thirty minutes pass I am finally ready to leave.

I walk down stairs to see my dad reading the paper on the barstool in the kitchen.

"Your back?" I question "Well, of course it's Bart's brunch today. As a leading partner in Bass industries I wouldn't miss it for the world." he tells me before placing a kiss on my cheek.

"How was your week at school?" He asks me "Same ol same ol." I tell him.

We both continue to catch up on each other's week on the drive over to the event.

It felt really good getting to catch up with him since it's rare he's home for longer than a week.

Despite his busy work schedule he always manages to make the best of our limited time together which is a lot more than I can say about my mother.
