In these lazy hazy days of summer, a few simple tips to beat the heat.
One: drink plenty of fluids.
Two: stay out of the sun.
Three: limit all physical activity.
That is, within reason.
I sit at Blair's dining table with Serena as we watch Blair plan her back to school party.
Serena turns to me asking "So now that you are back in the city will Marcus be spending a lot of time with you and your dad?"
"I hadn't really thought about that yet but I'd imagine so. He truly is amazing. You know he hasn't pressured me for sex once. Not once." I say.
"Well that's a huge step up from Carter. Did Chuck ever?" Serena asks another question.
"Not exactly but he definitely alluded to it." I reveal.
Serena hmms then looks at Blair, "Did you see what I did there, Blair? I expressed an interest in London's relationship. Look, I know you know about me and Dan. Even Dorota told me she was happy for me."
"I'm happy for you." Blair says lacking any signs of emotions.
"B, I know you don't approve of him." Serena states.
"True" Blair agrees.
"And I know he's not the 22nd lord of Weatchestshire, like Marcus." Serena continues.
"Also true." Blair says pointely.
"Come on B. Why can't you just support her?" I question.
"Have you two talked about everything? All the very real reasons you broke up last year?" Blair asks.
"No. Not exactly." Serena responds.
"Well when you do and if you're still together. I'll be happy for you." Blair replies.
Honestly, Blair was right.
Serena was denying all the faults in their relationship and that would just lead to further problems if they were to officially get back together.
Serena was upset with Blair though and decided to leave.
I stood with Penelope at Blair's party sipping on a glass of champagne.
"I thought you had decided on Columbia." she asks me.
"I know, but Marcus is begging me to reconsider going to Oxford." I explain.
"Such wasted potential." Chuck says as he interrupts our conversation.
Penelope excuses herself leaving me with Chuck.
"What are you talking about?" I ask with an annoyed look on my face.
"The thing that always fascinated me. The cool exterior. The fire below." Chuck whispers in my ear before placing his hands on my waist.
I forcefully remove his hands off me saying "You are living proof that a person can't buy class." I scuff.
"You can't tell me that Berite Wooster is satisfying your needs. Titles aside, a suit of armor makes for a cold bedfellow."
"What? Are you afraid I might have hot steamy sex with him before I ever thought about sleeping with you." I challenge.
"You have always wondered what I could do. That's why you always gave my one night stands such a hard time the following morning." he challenges back sliding his hand up my thigh.
