My Intros to Ethic class had just gotten out and it was my last class of the week before we went on a quick break for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

I'm walking out with Aiden discussing our upcoming project before finals roll around.

"So do you have any plans for the holiday?" I ask.

"Um no actually. My dad and I don't have a relationship with each other and my relationship with my mother is quite complicated." he says, sighing.

"Oh. Well, I can completely relate to that." I say laughing lightly.

"Thanksgiving happens to be one of my favorite holidays and I refuse to let you spend it alone. Why don't you come over to my place? It's usually just my dad and Lucy, our housekeeper so we would love the extra company." I ask him with a smile on my face.

"I, I wouldn't want to impose." he states with concern in his voice.

"Nonsense. You're coming over. See you Thursday at noon." I inform him before walking away smiling.

That Thursday morning I sit at the bar watching Lucy work in the kitchen to prepare the food.

"Are you sure you don't need my help with anything?" I question.

"No, but thank you." she says smiling.

"Why don't you tell me a little about this Aiden character."

"Umm there's nothing really to say. He's in my Intro to Ethics class and he didn't have anyone to spend Thanksgiving with so I invited him here." I explain.

"Well, that was awfully nice of you. Speaking of plans, Chuck is with Lily right?" she asks me.

"Yes, I might swing by for some desert later but we'll see." I tell her.

Dad then comes walking down the stairs. "Lucy, this smells wonderful! I'll go set the table." he says.

Lucy blushes softly causing me to raise my eyebrows in question.

I was going to question her about it but there was a knock at the door signaling that Aiden is here.

I get off my seat to answer the door.

"Hey! Come on in." I beam up at him.

I guide him into the dinning room.

Dad and Lucy were already sitting there with the food and plates prepared.

"Hi. You must be Aiden. It's nice to meet you." my dad is the first to speak, reaching out his hand to shake Aiden's.

"It's nice to meet you as well." he says back nerves clear in his voice.

"Let's eat!" I exclaim trying to ease Aiden's nerves.

The dinner went really well which I was thankful for because I could tell Aiden's nerves had calmed down greatly.

My dad and him got along great talking about the New York Giants who they were both major fans of.

Dad even suggested going to a game together when baseball season rolled around.

Later that evening we are playing board games in the living room which was a family tradition when Chuck walks in.

Getting up from my seat I walk over to him placing a kiss on his lips "Hey babe."

He smiles down at me "Hey."

"Aiden, nice to see you again." he continues acknowledging Aiden's presence but I can tell he is a little bothered to see him.
