"So how are you and your family?" she broke the silence.
"We've been doing good ever since mom got a divorce with dad a few weeks ago," he explained. He saw a look of pity washing over her face.
"You don't have to feel pity for me, I'm just happy we don't have to deal with him and his abusive ways anymore."

"What about you?"
"Well, I moved here a few months ago, made new friends and that's basically it. I do kinda miss the others but I'm happy here," she explained and he nodded.
