【Part 4: Stuck】 「Kazuo」

Chapter 4: Stuck

"You know you will get stuck." Shouta punched my arm.

"Right." I lit up a cigarette, and pushed on the sand with my feet.

We sat on the swings in the park that evening talking about life. Shouta would often discuss about his business. I loved watching him get happy, sad, and just seeing him in every light.

He was my go-to for everything. I knew his secret. That he is secretly a woman living a man's life.

"If you go to jail for those murders, I'll bail you out."

"I won't. Franz or whatever got my back. Katie, and I are on good terms." I assured him. I knew it was tough hiding a secret this big.

Ever since Ita was found, I kept my guard up. I had to think of every alibi, and lie I couldn't possibly sum up in case the authorities would ask me shit. Life is a big pile of mess, and I was running out of time.

"You know, we have to really meet my parents." Shouta lights up a cigarette as well. "Last time my stupid brother ruined it all."

"Soon okay?"

"Are you still with that kid?" I could see his lip curling to that displeasing expression.

"Yeah I am still seeing him. I need him you know."

"Do you love him?"

Shouta's question caught me off guard. Did I love Satoshi or did I love controlling him?

"Who knows. I know I love you." I smirked at my little man. He blushes, and turns away from me.

"You can't have us both. Choose one you sack of shit." The exhale of his smoke blew in my face. It was about as foggy as my brain.

I tossed my cigarette before I got too relaxed. "We shall see. Want to come over?"

"No, I have to take care of business."

"My teaching career is going to be moving to England for a week. I was wondering if you wanted to go there with me." I got up, and went to stand next to him.

He stood up, and smirks. "Kazuo, how smooth are you."

"Very." I stroked his cheek, and he looks to me. "I want to take you away on a sweet escape."

"Yeah Gwen?" He smirks. "I'll have to discuss it with Seiji first."

"When is the family dinner?"

"Soon. My brother recently got into some car crashing. He saved some dumb little boy. Thank god he is alive."

"Tell me when baby." I kissed his lips. "I got to go home. Duty calls."

"Me too. I will call you later if I find out. If not....I'll meet with you soon."

I drove home in then pitch of the night. I was practically the only one on the road at this point. I peeked over at the clock, and it read 2:00. Wow so late...or early. 

I got a call from my boss during the drive back. He told me that I needed to make up my mind on the trip to England. It is soon. Very soon.

My house was really quiet. I lived alone, and sometimes I would wish for Satoshi's company, but I knew it wasn't happening since he no longer attended Soho university. His university was located further south of Japan which was opposite my house. What a drag.

I walked on in my house, and upstairs to find myself crashing into bed, and dozing off into deep somber. What a long ass day.

The very next morning I was awoken by a call from Shouta. I lazily answered it. "Hey?"
