(Jesy)
Silence was all that was heard throughout my flat. I shut the door and set down my bag, tossing my keys into a bowl by the door. I sighed, seeing the news article lying on my coffee table. The headline's unmistakably large letters were impossible to miss, no matter how hard the attempt to walk away without a second though seemed. It's been two weeks since Jade and I went to the Georgia aquarium. Two weeks since we had been together, two weeks of lonely shifts at the pool, two weeks of down time. The news article was laying on the table, and of course it would read "Jesy Nelson renounced from the Olympics, moved to Atlanta in the Americas."
And it's because someone has blown my cover. Who, this is not known. My agent searched everywhere he could think of, but no such luck. Luckily, the paper was a tabloid, in which everything from the cover to the back is complete rubbish and shit, but, wether to believe those things or not was always up to the readers. Jade has been away in Michigan and Ohio for her soccer games with the silverbacks team. She left last week and well-she is supposed to be home tomorrow, which sucks because her last game was yesterday but they made the players stay two extra days for some reason. I miss her, I miss playing with her hair, her warm brown eyes and her tiny little body when she would curl up in my lap to hear a story of mine. I frowned trudging over to the couch and flipped the Telly on, landing on Pirates of the Caribbean. I decided to watch the movie and sighed tracing patterns on the sofa, ignoring a click from the doorway, most likely the ice I left out from yesterday. "Why can't you be home yet Jay? I miss you." I pouted to practically no one and hugged my pillow.
"Eh well you see, coach didn't call the shots." A voice shocked me out of my movie, the pillow flew off the couch along with me. I landed in a heap to see my girlfriend standing at the door of the living room, dressed in some joggers and one of my black sweaters. "Jade!" I leapt up and tackled her onto the couch in delight, koala bear hugging the day lights out of her, but hey who cares, I missed her so what. "Jesssss." She warbled in reply hugging me back just as tightly, burying her face in my neck. "I missed you." She smiled from beneath me. I lay back down to be closer to her, resting my head on her chest. "Missed you too, I was lonely at the pool ya know." I rested on my chin to see her gorgeous face beaming back at me. "Well that couldn't be too fun am I right?" She pushed back some of my hair. With a shake of my head she giggled silently, kissing my forehead. "Yeah, not at all." I pouted, but started to smile once more whilst taking in the beauty that was Jade Thirlwall. She was as beautiful as ever, from her toes to the top of her petite head, with her lopsided grin, the one I adore very much. "Is that pirates of the Caribbean?" She asked in excitement after watching a few seconds of the film. A small nod answered her question, she squeaked in delight and cuddled me closer to settle down, her attention settling upon the movie. My belly churned in delight, just to be laying here in my girlfriend's embrace made me happy, we didn't have to be going out, or spending time together outside, I enjoyed simply being us while watching a movie. Simple things like these were what kept relationships going. Jade makes me happy by anything that she does, and that always seems to be as easy as breathing for her. I don't understand, but to be honest I truly love it.
"Jes?" She asked. "Hmm?" What she said next sort of shocked me. "My mam wants to meet you soon. Have dinner." Jade said, facing me. "D-dinner with your mam?" Oh boy, what if she didn't like me, what if-she thinks of me as the papers do? What if-"Jesy Jesy Jesy!" Jade took my face in her hands to make me meet her gaze. "Slow down, she will like you okay? Just be yourself." She pecked my lips softly. My heartbeat then began to settle. Maybe Jade's mum could like me, I'm just being bloody stupid. "Myself? B-but my image was ruined babe...a while ago." I sighed, the media have eased down on my case recently, but there's still hardly been any highly positive support to get them off my back. "I know, but no one really knows where you are right?" Jade took my hand to try and comfort me. But nope, the media even knew where I was, and I would not lie to my girlfriend. "Someone blew my cover." I revealed.
Jade's face went from concerned to angry. "But no one has ever recognized you? I've done all I can to keep your life private!" She threw her arms up in exasperation. "I know, and I admire that about you biscuit." I honestly did, she was always careful, calling me Lou and throwing people off if we ever had to speak. "But who? How? And-why?" She groaned falling back into my arms. "I don't know poopey, I don't know." I sighed. At that moment, my phone began to ring. I ignored it at first, wanting to stay with Jade but the call wouldn't end. "Hold on." I sighed to Jade and hopped off the couch, taking my phone from the coffee table. Leigh-Anne was face timing me. Just a quick hello should do. I accepted and I was met with the unruly Afro of my best friend. It was probably nearly 11:00 back in London, since it was six in the afternoon here. "Leigh!" I smiled weakly, seeing her trying to tame her Afro. "Hey Jes!" She grinned. "Are you busy?" She asked. "A bit, how are you?" I looked back at Jade, she waved at me to go on. "I'm alright, just stressed out a bit. I've got news." She pulled a poker face as best as she could. "Stressed out?" I asked. She nodded, a slight blush tinted her cheeks. "I'm the new team anchor, and well...er, Ava." She said the last part in a small voice. "What about her?" I wondered. Ava was a bit...ignorant when it came to me. She was always around me, especially Perrie when we are a couple. Everywhere we went, the girl was pretty much there. "She's been pining over Perrie. And she's trying to make me stay away from pez. She's gone so for Jesy, it's so hard to not just scream! Or to punch the dumbfuck in the face!" Leigh ran her hands through her Afro in a stressful manner. "What did she do?" My insides turned uncomfortably at this information. "She said she was warning me off. But then again, she doesn't know what she's in for." Leigh growled. Someone shifted besides me, almost having me forget that my girlfriend was here. ¨Are you okay?¨ Jade asked my best friend in concern. Leigh looked a bit surprised, but in a heartbeat she started to grin like a madwoman. All I could think was great... ¨You must be Jade! Wow, Jesy really wasn't kidding! You are one insanely gorgeous human, how is she treating-¨ ¨Ava. We were talking about Ava.¨ My cheeks were probably as red as they could get, Jade turned to me and Leigh; smiling widely towards me. ¨I am having the time of my life with this one. I appreciate the comment. I'm Jade Thirlwall.¨ She introduced herself politely to Leigh-Anne, who was still pining over her momentarily. ¨Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and to answer your question earlier, I could be better.¨ Leigh sighed and studied her knee. ¨Leighly? Are you home love?¨ A new voice called; Jade's eyes widened, Perrie. I just smiled. ¨In here.¨ My best friend answered, seeming somewhat more relaxed.I saw my other best friend enter the living room and start to smile when she realized who Leigh was speaking to. ¨Hey Jesy. Good day?¨ She sat on Leigh's lap and kissed her forehead. ¨Absolutely, Jadey here surprised me today; she wasn't supposed to be back yet.¨ I looked over at the petite girl sitting besides me and smiled like a fool when she cuddled into my side, blushing uncontrollably, which was just adorable. ¨Hi bubba! I'm Perrie, it's nice to meet you.¨ Perrie waved to my girlfriend. ¨Hi Perrie, I'm J-Jade Thirlwall. Nice to see you too.¨ She said shyly. Perrie even started to coo in appreciation over the Geordie. ¨You're a Geordie too! Bloody hell you are just adorable! Jesy chose well.¨ She approved, an earnest grin appearing on her face. The four of us made light conversation throughout until lunch, Leigh filled everyone in on her little dispute; Perrie assured her that they were alright. Jade and I told the girls also that we were together, the four of us seemed to connect after that. It was a nice feeling, and watching Jade as she talked to my best friends made me realize that she was truly one of the best things to happen to me when I got landed here.
Jade Thirlwall has honestly helped me through enough to be considered a lot. She's an absolute jewel. One I'm serious about defending and protecting in any way.
