(Jesy)
I opened my eyes seeing the morning sunlight streaming in through the blinds of my room.
I felt oddly refreshed, almost as if I wasn't isolated from the world-I felt at ease.
I stretched and lay in my bed for a while. It felt nice, it was summer in the city of Atlanta-the weather in the morning was calm and pleasant. Should I stay in bed for a while longer? Yeah. I rolled back over and cuddled into the penguin in my bed. It's been about three weeks since I left the UK, things were slowly falling into place. I started a life guarding position at the pool, I face timed with Leigh and pez as offend as possible and saw Daniel; they said they were doing better-I was happy for them, and once even when Perrie left the camera to go use the toilet I encouraged Leigh to confess to her.
Yeah, I know, it was weird encouraging her but I had been able to move on, I was starting to get used to not having Perrie by my side, and I think Leigh-Anne is the right person for her, she's a lovely girl, and she will definitely treat Perrie well."I don't know Jes, I'm not sure." Leigh had said.
"Just go for it, you deserve it, and she needs someone, and you're always there for her Leigh, she does love you, she almost chose you before." I reminded her. She was quiet for a while before she nodded starting to smile.
"Right, thanks Jes. But if it's okay, I know it's hard-hell it's been a bit hard on me too." She rubbed her neck pulling off a weird face, I chuckled.
"It's perfectly fine Leigh, go get her." I smiled at her feeling no remorse at my words, Perrie deserved someone who could love her and keep her together, someone like Leigh.I lay on my back seeing the fan above my bed and turned on the Telly after a while. I started to watch 'The Fosters' and 'Pretty Little Liars'.
A while later I finally decided to drag my lazy bum out of bed and pulled on shorts to walk downstairs and make myself some food.
I looked at the time: 10:00, hmm maybe I could go and spend some time at Jade's house for a while since my job starts the day after tomorrow.
I haven't met her mam yet but she told me that Norma Thirlwall was a rather nice lady if you didn't have a habit of breaking china and expensive furniture. I smiled at the thought, I'll have breakfast later. I went upstairs washing my face then changed into leggings, a loose top, and sandals. Then I applied a bit of concealer with mascara and Chapstick before heading out the door.
I knocked on Jade's door looking up at the house as it towered above me, it was enormous-like I said.
I was distracted by the door swinging open to reveal my Geordie friend in sweats and a tank top with her hair in a very messy bun. Oops, it must be too early for her!
"Sorry, I just er I thought you were up and you know it's ten-sorry! Go back to sleep baba." I blushed at my stammering.
"Oh no it's fine, I'm up at nine thirty sometimes, don't feel bad Jes!" She giggled looking at me with those big brown eyes of hers. "I don't want to intrude on your morning-uh, routine?" I apologized. "Please, I may have a nice place but I am not an organized person, would you like to come in?" She chuckled again pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. I nodded smiling kindly at her while she stood aside to let me pass. I stood in the hall waiting for Jade while she closed the door behind me and threw an arm lazily over my shoulder. "And now since you're here, it would be lovely if you carried me to the kitchen!" She declared letting out a toothy yawn.
"But that's a lot of work!" I groaned dramatically looking down at the Geordie next to me. "Well if ya want I'll make you breakfast." She smirked, ahhh damnit-she had to include food in the deal. "Oh fine." I chuckled scooping her up in my arms easily she was quite a lightweight if I say so myself!
"Eeee! Jes!" She squeaked. "Well I'm carrying you love." I giggled walking down the hallway and took a left seeing a loft-style kitchen waiting. This place really was amazing! I set the petite Geordie down on the island in the center of the kitchen and sat on a stool next to her. "So what would you like?" She smiled.
"Surprise me?" I decided.
"Can do!"
She hopped off the island starting to collect foods from cabinets all over the place, okay even I wouldn't really be able to memorize the kitchen, much less the food. I wonder how long it took for her to find her way to her room!
"It's a rather big place." Jade spoke, she literally voiced my thoughts. "A rather gigantic place yeah." I agreed. "Yup, you should come over more often-I won't be lonely in the mornings!" She said struggling to reach for the biscuits placed on a high shelf above her head; and Jade is a rather tiny little thing-her top started to rise the further she stretched. It took all of my will to not just stand up and start poking her side because she seamed to be living quite the struggle; instead I started to laugh quietly while she hopped up and down cursing under her breath.
"Goddamm it mam, putting the bloody biscuits up there!" She cursed. I was in fits of giggles while I walked over. "Here, let me." I said steering her to the side and reached up catching the corner of the biscuit pack, pulling it down.
"Incoming!" I whispered while the pack came down. "YES." Jade reached for the pack but it fell right onto her face; I was dying of laughter.
She plopped them on the counter, red faced and looked at me. "Well miss Jessica, I might as well take you to subway." She smirked. I stopped laughing and looked up at her with big eyes. "Did you just say what I think you did!?" I gasped; she nodded smirking at me. "Nooo you can't do that!" I gasped clutching my chest.
"Yes I can Jesminda." She smirked again. "Or I could accidentally drop these in the trash! I returned; holding up the pack of biscuits for her to see.
"NO YOU CHEATER."
She hollered jumping on me.
"What's this?" A new voice broke us out of our little play fight. Jade blushed snatching up her pack of biscuits from me before bouncing to her feet. I stood up behind her and ran a hand through my curls nervously, what would she do when she recognized me?
"Er, mam! Hi, uh-this is Jesy-a-uh, my new friend." She stuttered turning to me. "Nice to meet you pet, I'm Norma, Jade's mam." She yawned shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you too miss Thirlwall." I bit my lip. She pulled away giving us a drowsy smile, "I'll catch you girls later, I'm going back up to relax, don't burn down the kitchen yeah?" She asked. "Of course not mam!" Jade chuckled while letting out a sigh of relief. I turned around immediately going over to the island again hearing the door close upstairs.
"She has a day off usually today." Jade explained. "Ah, I see." I played with my curls. "So you're officially in summer break?" I asked starting a conversation. "Yeah-NO MORE SCHOOOL!" She cheered shooting around the kitchen to collect spoons. "Aw that's lovely!" I congratulated her, she nodded excitedly. "No more projects after projects, after homework, after tests, after exams! Life is good." She smiled dreamily at the end of her sentence. "Yup, I love going on break." I chuckled. "So tell me more about yourself Jesminda, I don't know you that well except for the things in the papers and the Telly." Jade said.
"Jesminda?" I laughed. She nodded.
"That's my nickname for ya! I can change it if you want or uh-sorry if you don't like nicknames." She started rambling.
"Hey it's fine! Honestly, don't worry about it Jadey." I cut her off, she was so cute! "You don't have to tell me Jes, sorry." She said. "Oh it's fine, you're my friend." I chuckled. "Really?" She clutched her heart dramatically; her eyes widened making her even cuter. "Of course you are love!" I giggled pulling her in for a hug. "Yay!" She squealed locking her arms around my neck.
"Soooooo! Anyways, I'm Jessica Louise Nelson from Romford Essex, I'm 21, I have a phobia of sandwiches, my dad doesn't accept me for being gay so my mum eventually divorced him, my little brother is living with Leigh-Anne. I love to work accents, beatbox, and even sing in my spare time. My other brothers are married or graduating college, with my sister Jorden; she's in her first year." I started. Jade nodded. "I started swimming for my school-I beat our record and was asked for by the national team, it grew from there until they started drafting for the Olympics, I was of age and you know what happens from there." I concluded. Jade nodded.
"Your turn!" I said while she passed me a plate with breakfast. "Okay, but come on let's sit first, I'm lazy." She pointed to the bar. I followed her over; we both sat down comfortably across from each other.
"Right, so I'm Jade Amelia Thirlwall, I'm 18 turning 19 in December I'm from South Shields and uh, I just finished high school and I'm scared of clowns. My family doesn't care if I'm bi, my older brother Carl is living in South Shields with his wife Lucy and son baby Carl." She perked up at her nephew's name. "I never met me dad, my mam owns a clothing line, I'm on the state football-er I mean soccer team, I think some Americans are weird, I like to sing sometimes, and I have three best friends, and well I may or may not go to uni." She finished. "That's cool." I marveled, I didn't know she was on the state football team! "Yeah it has its perks." She nodded giving me a shy smile.
"But I'm sorry you didn't meet your dad." I felt bad for her, she shook her head chewing on her biscuits.
"No it's okay, honestly I hate him for doing that to us, and we're doing fine without him." She popped another biscuit in her mouth.
"Well I can kind of sort of relate." I said, I mean-in a way my dad wasn't here either, it felt as if he had disappeared when I came out to my family.
"Yeah I'm sorry for you." Jade said looking at me with earnest eyes. "It's okay, like you said, I've coped without him." I gave her a smile. She returned it.
Slowly I realized I was starting to pull out of my shell, I still have plenty of other things that I hope I'll be able to spill to her but hopefully she will give me time, because time is a valuable thing.*****************________________******************
