We have a new neighbor! I wonder who it is? I looked out the day before yesterday and saw a u-haul truck carrying a couple of boxes and a couch into the house for sale across the street. Maybe they would be nice! I gripped the steering wheel nervously; today was the last day in the crazy school. I couldn't wait! No more ranting professors about essays and ridiculously long projects.

I parked my car in its usual spot and walked slowly into school clutching my bag over my shoulder. "Hey Geordie!" Someone's strong arms spun me in the air. "Kevin!" I squealed locking my arms around his neck. He grinned and set me down. "Last day! You excited?!" He almost skipped as we entered the school. "HECKS yeah!" I cheered fist-pumping into the air. "AHHH! FREEDOM IS NEAR!" I heard Summer shout and run jumping on his back. Then Jake, Rose, Coby, and Indie joined us as we all jumped up and down cheering, yeah, we're quite a weird bunch lets just leave it at that. Then we calmed down and went into school.

I barely heard what anyone was saying throughout class, turning in my papers and my work until lunch. I was hungry. "FOOD!" Rose broke away from me and ran towards the cafeteria. "HEY!" I shouted laughing while I ran after her. Thank god I chased her, they were handing out pie! I slid to a stop thanking the cafeteria woman for the food and followed Rose to the spot outside on the football field.

Summer came next bouncing up and down with Coby's hands in hers and then Jake and finally Kevin followed. We all circled up together talking about our summer plans and whatnot flicking crisps at each other until we had to get back to class.

The day flew by unexpectedly and soon I was in seventh period music.

"Well, it was great teaching you kids-good luck out there and, have a great summer!" Ms. Smith grinned when the bell finally sounded; the class exploded with shouts and yells of happiness, papers flew around the room. I squealed jumping into Kevin's arms and held on as he spun me around jumping and shouting while we raced out of the classroom with the rest of our friends; the school following behind us. The doors burst open and everyone shouted, please-we could've been a bloody stampede of high-schoolers for all I care! I laughed with my friends seeing everyone all smiles and waving goodbyes or hugging their friends. I hugged all of my friends cheering with them and then jumped into my car getting ready to pull out of the car, knowing that I wouldn't be coming back to Lakeside as a student.

I pulled up at my house and ran inside bouncing off the walls-SUMMER WAS HERE! I WAS FREE! "YES! I DID IT!" I screamed in joy laughing at myself and ran outside running around the house in circles, I couldn't help it! I graduated! I was done with that place!

Now I could go and follow my dreams! Hopefully.

I finally stopped and went inside collapsing on the couch and grabbed a bowl of crisps turning on the telly-ugh! I mean tv and put in Aladdin.

My mam came home towards the end of the film finding me cuddled up on the couch with a bag of crisps. "AHH YOU DID IT! I'm proud of you pet!" She cheered when I looked at her with a huge grin. "I did it!" I squealed cheering with her. We calmed down and then she patted the couch. I sat down next to her. "So we have a new neighbor." She started. "Yeh! I hope they're nice." I nodded; she chuckled before going on.

"Would you do me a favor and welcome them to the neighborhood." She pecked my cheek chuckling. "Oh-sure! Wish me luck though." I said, I was slightly shy when it came to meeting new people. "You don't need it! You're a lovely young lady!" My mam said; I blushed opening the door. "Okay, see you in a bit." I laughed going out the door. I clutched my jumper sleeve nervously; what if...? I shook it out of my head. No, that's enough Jade!

I walked up to the door and knocked twice and waited rocking back and forth on my heels before the door opened and I was a slightly shocked to see a young girl open the door.
