(Jade)

My eyes widened while I flicked through the morning papers. Jesy Nelson is a drug addict!? What!? This couldn't be true, not at all!
I typed the article down in google and found another one online. I hit the link:
World-wide Olympic swimmer Jesy Nelson on drugs?
Monday (2 days ago) Olympic athlete Jesy Nelson (21) was competing in the 400 meter relay, the girl was taken from the race when teammate Mariana Richards clarified symptoms of a fit; Nelson lost control of her body's movements causing her to swim out of control and collide with the pool's stone-hard edge.
Resources spotted her heading to the hospital with teammate and partner Perrie Edwards (19) and teammate Leigh-Anne Pinnock (20).
Once authorities ran a blood test, sources said Nelson was discovered to have taken an overdose of methane, resulting in her having to leave the Olympics after a talk with the judges.
What will this mean?
How will she cope, and how badly will this effect her relationship with Perrie?

I closed the article in disappointment. I don't know. Just, I don't think she could do that right? She was just a girl, she was pure hearted-she couldn't do that to herself or Perrie. Could she?
"Jade honey?" Me mam called from downstairs.
"Yeah mam?" I yelled back. "Come down! It's Drew." She called. Ugh, Drew, I already knew he had a thing for me-this wouldn't win me over at all! I put down my plate of biscuits and pushed my glasses onto my nose not even bothering to see what I looked like before plodding downstairs.
"Right, I'll leave you to it!" She kissed my cheek and pulled me into a hug bringing her lips to my ear, "could you please get him to leave the door?" She begged letting me go. I laughed. "I'll try!" I called and she gave me a thumbs up.
He leaned against the door frame. "Hey babe." He said casually. "What do you want?" I asked already bored out of my mind; I didn't have time for this! "You." He smirked leaning over. "Eeeekk!" I swatted him away; I have already told him so many times, apparently his head is a bit too thick. "C'mon babe! You know you want some of this!" He gestured to himself. "Oooooookay-no, just...noooooo! I don't like you-go away and find someone else's knickers to twist!" I shook my head pulling my jumper around myself. "C'mon Jade! You know you do." He said in a singsong voice. I laughed. "This is why no one wants you!" I answered in a singsong voice and shoved him out the door locking it shut and going back upstairs.
This place is ridiculous! America is weird. I moved here about a year ago, people drive on the wrong side of the road-everyone here is annoyingly cocky and they confuse me with their words! I mean-biscuits: cookies, crisps: chips, jumpers: hoodies-ARGH! And the boys-OH MY LORD! THEY ARE SO BLOODY ARROGANT AND STUPID IT DRIVES ME BONKERS.

I went upstairs grabbing crisps on my way up and told mam it was safe to go back downstairs. "Great! Thanks Jadey." She grinned; I nodded heading upstairs and taking out my book. I pushed my glasses up before beginning to read again.
I don't know, I just find reading a good way to spend my time whenever I'm not at the pool or at football (er well soccer for the Americans).
I'm not the biggest person or the strongest, I'm quite a small thing really. My mam said I was rather fit, I don't really care but it's nice to be complimented I guess. My phone buzzed with a text.
I picked it up.

Kevin:

Hey you Brit you! :)

I laughed at him, he was my first friend when I was introduced to Lakeside High School. I'm in year twelve (senior), we have about two weeks until classes are over-I can't wait!

Hey you American you!! :P

I sent the text reading my book while he answered. I met him when I got lost on my first day and wandered into the pool area by accident, he was just dipping his feet in the pool and I'm pretty sure I looked out of place there so he came up and asked me if I liked cereal and took me to lessons. It was actually funny when I met him, he's a canny lad I can definitely say.

Kevin:

Wanna catch a movie tomorrow? x

I grinned, we hadn't been able to hang out as much these days since we were finishing up exams. I quickly texted back.

Sounds good! :) u pick thou x

I sent the text and finished a chapter of my book smiling before putting it up and changing into my bikini. I think it's nice out for a swim.
"Going to the pool mam!" I shouted. "Be back by eleven poopey!" She shouted back. "Maaaam!" I complained; really! I'm eighteen and she STILL calls me poopey, eh well, she knows I still like it. "Love you too baba." She laughed while I walked out to my car in a jumper and sweats.
I hopped in and drove to the pool as quick as I could, I really like being here-it's a nice feeling, especially when no one's here-it's the best time to be there.
I parked in the lot and walked in unlocking the door. I watched as it swung open; and grinned-yes! I was one of the only people that had keys here, and there was No-one here. Not even Rachel was here yet-she was probably on a road trip, she's our lifeguard-sometimes she's just too talkative but at least she's nice.
And then there's Jordan... the awkward lifeguard that just keeps to himself, but I know he likes to dance.
I pulled off my jumper and sweats dipping a toe into the pool; I grinned, perfect-it wasn't too hot or cold, yes!
I lowered myself into the pool gliding calmly through the water feeling content with the water pleasantly surrounding my body. I floated on my back in the pool looking at the stars as they shined above my head; it was so peaceful here-this was one of the good things of moving here. Not many people come to the pool right now so I take advantage of that and spend quality time here-and I like it.
I relaxed swimming a few strokes before I saw that it was fifteen until eleven o'clock and pulled myself out of the water. I toweled off slipping into the bathroom and changing into dry clothes before heading back to my car and locking the pool up again, feeling brilliantly refreshed.
I pulled into the garage and headed inside past my mam's room biding her goodnight before heading to my room to shower. The soothing water ran down my back while I finished washing my hair and rinsed it out, I stepped out of the shower and put on a tank top and sweats heading out onto my balcony. I let my hair dry and pulled out my sketchbook starting to sketch the night sky.
"Hey Jay!" Someone whisper-shouted. I snapped up seeing Kelsy waving at me and laughed. "Hey blonde." I called back. I met her around my second week at school, she had a thing for me-but she was quite the funny girl so she became my friend soon enough, both of us were open about our sexualities to the school, and everyone respects us for it. She's a lesbian while I'm bisexual-I guess I have a thing for everyone eh?
She wrapped an arm around my neck giving me a kiss on the cheek. "How are you girlie!" She grinned. "Good." I laughed pushing her away; she was so cheeky. "What's up?" She asked making herself comfortable on a chair. "Not much really, just the sky." I chuckled pointing up.
"Sure, did you hear about Jesy Nelson?" She asked her eyes going wide. "Huh?-oh yeah, but I don't think it's true-someone could've done it." I remembered the article I read this afternoon. "Yeah-I mean, she couldn't have done that to herself! Poor Perrie." She nodded. I agreed, poor Perrie, she was Jesy's girlfriend-they were both picked to compete on the team this year-and aww! It was the cutest thing! In an interview they both said how they were happy to have the other and just awww.
"Hopefully they'll be fine." I said playing with my jumper's strings. "Mhmm, yeh, well I'm gonna go! I have to pick up my brother from the airport tomorrow." She yawned sitting up. "Mkay, nanite!" I pulled her into a hug feeling her lips on me. "Feisty." I chuckled breaking away. "You love it." She winked. "Go to sleep." I laughed going back inside once she climbed back onto her balcony.
I lay down in the covers pulling them up to my chin and snuggled into my comfy bed relaxing into the cushions letting my mind go blank and started to drift asleep, welcoming the fact that it was now summer vacation. Whoa-this year went by FAST.
