(Jesy)
Faint knocking got my attention from the back door on a nice Saturday morning during my workout routine. At first since I wasn't so sure who it was, I stayed on the bench with my weights, easily doing my sit ups. Then I heard even more knocking, this time louder and seemingly urgent. The contraption then let me go and I went over to the door, seeing a familiar Geordie plus her best friend standing at the door with upset faces. I immediately connected on the fact that something was wrong and greeted them still, pulling on my shirt. "Hey guys? What's going on?" At first I didn't think it would be so bad, maybe it was just a-
"Jes, they know you're living here. The press."
Okay that just took a one-way trip to hell.
"We saw it earlier, it's on the news." Jade frowned. "I-who could've told them?" I was a little lost, I was so sure none of the neighbors had ever taken much interest in me, my job was barely risky, all I did was watch people from a chair. "We're not sure, but a few of them have English roots, they've followed the swim team before, particularly that one Ava girl, she actually knows Jade's neighbor Vivian." Kevin answered after a bit of thinking. "Kelsy wouldn't know, because well she has yet to realize that I'm dating you, she doesn't really go to the pool unless Kevin and I come. Occasionally. That rules her out." Jade was mumbling under her breath as she paced back and forth on my living room floor. My mind was racing now, there was too much information being thrown at me all at once. So instead of running away from the situation like I absolutely wanted to. I sat Kevin and Jade down, then watched them gather their words and gave one of the petite Geordie's hands a squeeze of comfort, I had to handle this. I know I could.
And of course, my first instinct was: call Perrie.
"Hey I'm going to head out, are you staying?" I heard Kevin asking Jade as I dialed my ex girlfriend's number. "Yeah, I want to make sure everything will be okay. Take care." They hugged goodbye and I was silently grateful that Jade was going to stay with me, because well, I more or less needed someone to be here, so I wouldn't freak out or anything. Why not have an amazing girl such as my girlfriend be the one then?
A small, comforting dainty pair of arms wrapped around my waist as my phone rang. Jade kissed my shoulder in comfort and I took ahold of one of the hands she had placed around me and held it.
"H-hello?" A groggy voice sounded, I frowned, of course it must be late in England wow good job Jesy.
"Perrie? Sorry I forgot you all must be sleeping, I'll call back later?" I felt bad for interrupting her sleep. "N-o no, it's alright. I'm assuming it's trouble, what happened? Are you okay?" She seemed more awake, I heard shuffling on her end. "Perrie the press...someone, they told the cameras where I live." As soon as I said the words out loud, the problem became real. I'm about to be swamped by cameras, people, publicity. "W-wait what?! What's going on? Jesy?" Another groggy voice came from my phone. "Leigh, they know where I live. I'm done for." I was getting upset, slowly but surely.
"How?"
"We don't know." Jade squeezed my waist tighter and I felt another wave of comfort wash over me. "I'll call the board in the morning, and Jes I think it's best you stay inside or at least try and avoid the press." Leigh bit her lip in thought. "Yep, the investigation still hasn't really blown over hasn't it? No leads?" I didn't know what else to ask about, of course they wouldn't be over my fiasco. "Well, they're saying someone on the team may have had to do with it. But I'm calling bull-" "Leigh-Anne, language! You might wake Dan." Perrie cut off her girlfriend by smacking her in the abs. I snorted for a second but smiled. "I'm glad you guys are taking care of my little squirt, tell him I miss him please." My heart involuntarily clenched. "He misses you everyday, you know Jes maybe you should visit? To let the press calm down, and hey, bring Jade." Perrie suggested after Leigh-Anne apologized in the background.
I felt Jade twitch behind me in acknowledgment of what my ex had just suggested, but all in all...it wasn't the worst idea ever. I'd been away for a far enough time, and I missed them all, my little brother, the pair of idiots who I loved dearly, and the team of course. And I would love to bring Jade, although I instantly remembered she played for the silverbacks. "I'd love to come along if you guys wouldn't mind me too much." She had smiled after a few moments of shock settled on her face. "Great! We can find you guys some tickets." Leigh agreed, I turned to Jade for a second. "What about your footie team?" I asked her. "They'll understand, besides, I'm never absent so they won't be able to pin it over my head or anything." She shrugged, I smiled. She was amazing. "Thank you, all of you." I felt a lump rising in my throat once more, but they all knew. "We love you Jes, and I'm sure we're gonna love you too Jade." Perrie said, letting out a loud yawn. "Go back to sleep guys, we're gonna be fine now, and I hope to see you guys soon!" I smiled softly. "Love you too! Night Jade, night Jes." The two called before hanging up. Without wasting any time I turned around in Jade's loose embrace and kissed her softly, feeling more hopeful. She hummed in relief, tightening her grip. She radiated comfort, and the further I melded myself into her, the warmer I felt, the less panicked I was. She was pure magic.
"So you're really going to come along with me back home?" I asked the Geordie who briefly pulled out of our snuggles to smirk. "I think we'll have a great time there Jes. I'm gonna get all the crazy Jesy stories I hope and I look forwards to them for sure." She teased me. I just sighed and flicked her up the head. Then after she was done giggling her eyes snapped open comically wide. "Wait-t-they're being serious?!" She gaped.
It was my turn to start chuckling as I opened my phone to scroll through my little group chat with Pez and Leigh. "Well they've actually already started looking and found us three flights, the earliest being this upcoming weekend." I looked over the flight times. "Well shit. I guess I really am coming then. Uh I'll fork over some money too just let me-" "ah ah! Nonsense love, we've got it. Or rather they've got it. Don't worry." I stopped Jade from finishing her sentence and smiled softly when she tilted her head. "I just don't want to think I can free load off of this despite being the girlfriend." She said almost timidly. My heart clenched in admiration. "I love that you're considerate about that, but I promise you if there was any issues about this, I would let you know. Thank you love." I hugged her tight and she sighed, relaxing into me and for another moment there was only peace, calm and Jade.-------------------------
