Chapter 26 : The Survivors

Jos P.O.V

I took out my phone, there was one missed call.......it was from Jimmy.

"Oh my god"I breathed choosing it and holding my phone up to my ear.

It started with heavy breathing.....then the sound of babies crying in the background.

"Jo.....Jo, it's Jimmy.......I....I don't know what happened, the club was attacked, I....I got away.....I've been evacuated...the whole subway system is full of survivors.....look I'm near Central Park....just, I love you........."

The sound of screaming people began to form in the background"

"What.....what's happening....no...no"I heard Jimmy yell as the the call ended.

"Jimmy"? I shouted into the phone.

"What is it"Ashton asked me.

"It's my brother........I think he's....I think he's been killed"I began to cry.

"What"?

"He and a couple survivors took shelter in the subway......it sounded like......like they were being attacked"

"When did he call you"?

"Around the time I got here"

"Two hours ago........."

"I have to go help him"

"No......I can't let you do that, it's far to dangerous out there,we need to wait until things out there die down"

"What the hell.....he's my brother he could be dying right now"

"Jo you have to stay here, please, we can't afford to loose anymore people"

He put his arm around me as the tears continued to appear in my eyes.

At that moment Em entered she looked happy.

She stopped smiling when she looked at me.

"Jo"She said conserned she walked over to me.

"It's Jimmy, I think he's been attacked......"

"Come with me to the bathroom ok, we'll get you cleaned up"

I nodded.

*in the bathroom

Emmeline wiped away the tears with some tissue paper.

"Thanks"I said

"Look......Jo, you understand that we can't go to Jimmy for a while........he'll have to try and handle things on his own for a little while ok"?

I nodded.

She pulled me into a hug.

"We're all gonna get through this Jo.....I know we are"she says to me.
