Chapter 51

Yeji POV

I finished breakfast and went in the car with my 3Jin and drove off

We dropped Sungjin at the Shins and dropped Hyujin at his school

After dropping the two I drove us to work

A few minutes later we've arrived at the hospital where we would do our usual shifts

Today was different and stressful for us....

It was only a couple hours onto our shifts where we were assessing the patients' needs and checking up on them

But then...I heard an ambulance came in at a hurry on the emergency room

I saw a group of nurses rushed a patient on a stretcher covered in thick bandages towards the operating room

A nurse then went to me and immediately pleaded for me to assist the team of doctors in the operating room

"Dr Hwang, We need your help with a patient in the OR, have you seen Dr Shin? We need her in there too" The nurse hurriedly said to me

"She's on the laboratory, I'll go get her" I answered

"Hurry Dr Hwang, the patient is in serious condition" She said

I dashed down the hallway and headed towards the laboratory

I then had to interrupt Ryujin from assessing the laboratory test results of the patients

"R-Ryujin!.....W-We...Need....Your...H-Help..." I said when I was out of breath after running

"Calm down, what's the emergency?" she asked

"Operating room, come quick" I replied

I grabbed her hand and pulled her along with me on our way to the operating room while I'm desperately trying to catch my breath along the way

Soon enough, we've finally made it to the operating and my feet are killing me from tiredness for what seemed like running for an entire hour

We immediately got dressed in our operation clothing and sanitized before entering the operation table

While we were putting on our surgical clothes, the nurse described to us the patient's condition

"So Dr Shin and Dr Hwang, the patient is 24 year old male, construction worker, condition is a fractured rib and inflicted with 3 stab wounds by glass shards, one on the left arm, two to the to the chest possible wounds on the aorta and a mild concussion" the nurse said

"Oh goodness, we have to be fast on this one Yeji, I'll need you to be careful on the sorrounding cardiovascular veins while I seal the bleeding from the aorta" Ryujin said

"Got it" I answered

Ryujin's POV

The patient is in really bad condition and we have to be more extra careful for this one

One wrong move and It's all over, we need to be fast also to not lose him due to blood loss

Yeji and I finshed preparing and just completed sanitation proceedure and entered the room

I entered the room along with yeji and there we saw jisung and chaeryeong both working on the arm and another doctor working on the bandages and bleeding

Jesus is it that serious that we need four surgeons here?

I immediately started removing the bandages on the chest and wiped off the excess blood
