6 months later...
"Dadda!" Liam tried to say as he slammed his hands down on his highchair.
"That's very good, buddy!" Deeks said as he helped me prepare lunch.
I was preparing the vegetables and bread, while Deeks was cutting up the meat.
"Mamma!" Liam said with a big smile.
I dropped my knife and picked up Liam from his highchair. I rested him on my hip, and used my free hand to adjust his bib.
I kiss him on the forehead, and he claps his hands together with a huge smile on his face.
"I can't believe I have to work tonight!" I say as I place Liam back in his high chair.
I walk back over to the cutting board and start to construct the sandwiches.
"Can you please put some sunscreen on Liam, please sweetie. He'll burn without it." I ask.
"Sure thing, honey." Deeks says as he puts down the tea towel and grabs Liam out of his chair.
"Come on buddy! We're going to put some sunscreen on you!" Deeks says as he takes Liam upstairs to the main bathroom.
As I pack the sandwiches in the picnic basket, the phone starts to ring. I continue to pack up lunch when I answer the phone.
"Go for Kensi!" I say with bright voice.
"You're next, Kensi. He will pay." A deep voice said on the other side of the line. I immediately hung up and Deeks walked into the room.
"Who was that?" He asked.
"Some guy saying 'I'm next' and 'he will pay'" I said as I grab the basket off the counter.
"I'm sure it was just a prank call." I say as I trade the basket for Liam.
"Are we going to our usual spot? Or should we go down to Malibu? It's a bit of a drive, but I don't have to work till 20:00. That's probably the only plus of having the graveyard shift." I say as I slip in my flip flops and head to the car.
I strap Liam inside and crawl in the drivers side. Deeks locks the front door and hops in the passenger side with the basket on his lap.
"I think we should just go to our usual spot, I don't feel like driving to Malibu." Deeks says as he puts on his seatbelt.
"Fair enough!" I say as I start the car.

We pull into the parking lot of our usual spot, which is usually packed, but not today.I hop out of the car and unstrap Liam. I put on his hat and walk around the car to stand beside Deeks.
"There's hardly anybody here!" Deeks states.
"It's perfect!" I say as start to walk across the warming sand.
We place down our beach towels and Deeks sets up the umbrella, and I set up Liam's beach chair.
Liam happily sits sticking his hands in and out of the sands while I unpack our lunch.
When we finish eating, I glance at the beautiful horizon, which is starting to turn pink.
"What's on your mind, honey?" Deeks asks. I immediately turn to face Deeks. I take off my sunglasses and look him straight in the eyes.
"I've been thinking these past few months, ever since mom passed away..." I paused and grab Deeks hand. "You can be deployed again at anytime," I pause and take a deep breath.
"I want to have another baby." I quickly state. I look into Deeks eyes, worried for his response.
A smile immediately appeared across his face. He pulled me into and embraced me as he said: "I was thinking the same thing."
