A Thousand Years

I Just Can't

"Wait!!" I yell before the doctor tells me anything more.

"I can't do this!" I say as I struggle off the chair.

"Where are you going, Mrs?" The doctor calls after me.

I rush out of the hospital and manage to make it to my car. I immediately start to break down, and a flashback hits me.

"Where are we going, Marty?!" I question as I'm blindfolded in the car.

"I can't tell you! It would ruin the surprise!" He says with a giggle.

I hear the car slow down and pull to a stop. I'm about to rip of my blindfold, but I'm stopped by Deeks.

He opens my car door and helps me out of the car. I can smell the ocean right away. That's when it hits me, we're at the beach.

"The beach?" I question as Deeks is leading my through the sand.

"Aha!" Deeks says as he pulls off my blindfold. I can see a beachfront property with a lit up balcony. As we walk closer, there is a table set for two on the porch, lit with candles and everything.

"What's going on, Deeks?" My heart is beginning to race within my chest.

Deeks walks in front of me and grabs both my hands.

"I love you, Kensi Marie Blye. I love you more than words can describe. The moment I first saw you in the school hallway 7 years ago, I knew that I would love you forever." Deeks gets down on one knee and pulls a little black box from his pocket.

I place a hand over my mouth in shock. I'm convinced my heart is going to stop it's beating so fast.

"I can't imagine my life without you, Kens. I need you in my life. I want to start a new chapter with you, I want to make little ninja assassins with you. Will you marry me?"

I stand in front of him with tears running down my face. I stay quiet for 20 seconds, before I suddenly snap back to reality.

"Yes!!" I cry. "Of course I'll marry you!" I scream as he slips the ring on my finger I jump into his arms and we kiss under the moonlight.

He puts me down, and turns towards the house.

"This is our house now, Kensalina. It's all ours." He says with a toothless grin.

KNOCK KNOCK

I snap out of my daydream to see Callen standing outside of my car.

I roll my window and wipe my tears.

"How'd it go?" Callen asks.

I shake my head and laughed.

"Horrible. I ran out of the hospital before she could tell me the gender. I got scared."

"I don't blame you, Kens. I talked to the Chief. He's given you the rest of the week off." Callen informs.

"That's amazing! I'll see you on Monday." I say as I start my car. I pull out of the parking lot and go for a long drive.

I get back at 20:00 (8pm) on the nose. I place my keys on the kitchen counter and immediately feed the dog.

Monty comes running as he hears the sound of kibble being poured into his bowl.

I walk into the bedroom and put my clothes in wash, and head for a nice hot shower.

I have a quick rinse off, and start to get changed.

As I look at myself in the mirror as I'm getting changed, I can actually see my little baby start to grow.

I place a hand on my slight bump and smile.

I put on my pjs, and walk downstairs to the living room. I click on 'Americas Next Top Model' and head over to the freezer and grab a tub of ice cream.

I plop myself on the couch and indulge in life's pleasures.

Sorry for such a short story!! I'm still unsure on the gender...but I'll post a longer chapter tomorrow!!
