Christmas was no special day this year. It wasn't spent with Deeks like it has been for the past 10 years. It was sad and depressing. Presents for Deeks sit wrapped under the tree. I was hoping he'd be back in time for Christmas.
Now it's New Years Eve and I'm getting ready to go to Callen's house for a party.
I run upstairs and take a shower, letting the warm water put me at ease. After about ten minutes I wrap myself in a towel and start to blow dry my hair.
When my hairs dry, I brush my teeth then enter the master bedroom and attempt to find something to wear.
I put on a pair of black leggings and a black sparkly long shirt. I decide to go with smokey eye shadow and red lipstick. I curl my hair and go downstairs to pick out a pair shoes.
I decide go wear a pair of high heeled boots. I slip them on my feet and grab my purse and keys off the kitchen counter and head out the garage door.
I hop in my car and put the keys in the ignition when I realize I forgot the bottle of wine I bought for Callen and his wife.
I quickly run backside and grab the bottle from the fridge, and find a fancy bag to put it in.
I run back into the car and place the wine in the back seat. I turn on the car and put on my seatbelt. I back out on the street and close the garage door.
I turn on the radio and put on my favourite techno music on. I laugh at the reaction I would have gotten from Deeks.
Deeks also wouldn't like the fact that Monty, Socks and Bolt will br home alone for New Years this year, because Deeks and I usually spend it together. I would have brought the dogs, but Callen's wife is allergic.
I pull into Sunset Blvd and park in front of Callen's house. I grab the wine and my purse and hop out of the car.
My car beeps as I press lock and start to walk up to the front door. I'm halfway up the stairs when I hear music playing from inside.
I walk up to the door and ring the door bell. Callen opens the door.
"Kensi! You look absolutely gorgeous!" He says as he invites me inside. He takes my coat and comes back to give me a huge hug.
"Merry Christmas, Kensi!" He says as he lets go.
"I got this for you and your wife." I say as I hand him the bag. He takes the bottle out of the bag and looks at the label.
"How'd you know this was my favourite?" He says as we walk to the living room.
"Mothers instinct?"I say with a laugh.
"You've definitely got it, Kens."
"KENSI!" The entire group in the living room yelled. Everyone has a drink in their hand, and they were all dancing to "All about that Bass."
"Hey guys!" I say as I quickly give everyone in the group a quick hug.
"You're absolutely glowing, Kensi." I hear Nell say. "When are you due?" She asked.
"End of February, beginning of March." I say with a smile. "They told me either Feb. 28th or March 1st."
"What can I get you to drink?" Callen's wife says as she walks behind me. "We have sparkling water, sparkling juice..."
"I'll take a Perrier please." I say lightly.
"Coming right away, sweetie."
"Because you know I'm all about that bass, 'bout that bass no treble!!" The entire group sings.
This was going to be a long night I could tell.
I had to home at 23:00. (11pm). I could barely keep my eyes open as I drove home.
As soon as I got home I changed into my pjs, brushed my teeth and junked into bed.
"Happy New Years Deeks." I say before my world is surrounded by darkness.
