"We're almost there, babe." Deeks says as he places a hand on my knee, while the other grips the steering while on the way to the ER.

I take deep breaths, trying to distract myself from the pain as Deeks pulls into the ER where two doctors come running toward me with a gurney.

They help me out of the passenger seat and place me on top of the gurney. I'm immediately rolled through the automatic doors and into the hospital.

"Someone page Dr. Collins, she's needed in room 126 stat." One of the nurses says as we continue to roll through the hospital.

The beautiful screams of a baby fills my ears with joy.

"Congratulations, it's a girl." The doctor says as she hands me my baby girl.

I cuddle my baby girl in my arms, as Deeks rubs the top of my forehead, and awes in the sight of his new baby girl.

After a couple minutes of cuddles, the baby is taken away while the doctors perform a series of tests to ensure the health of our baby girl.

The doctor walks in moments later, and hands Deeks our daughter.

"She's perfectly healthy," the doctor says with a smile. "She weighs 7lbs 5oz."

The doctor leaves and closes the door behind her, leaving Deeks and I alone in the room.

"Have we thought of any names we like?" Deeks asks without taking his eyes off the newest member of the family.

"I was thinking of naming her after something that reminds me of you." I say as I fiddle with my fingers.

"And what would that be?" Deeks asks curiously and he looks into my eyes.

"The day we got married, you picked out the bouquet I would walk down the aisle holding," I smile at memory of the day Deeks and I tied the knot.

"Iris," he says as he looks back down at her delicate face. "I think it's a beautiful name." Deeks says as he stands up and crawls into bed with me.

"Welcome to the family, Iris." We say in unison.

"Mama!" Liam says as he comes running through the door holding Grandma's hand.

"Hey sweetie!!" I say as Liam jumps into Deeks' arms. Deeks picks him up and puts him on the bed with me.

"I want to introduce you to Iris. Can you give your little sister a kiss, Liam?" I ask as I carefully hold Iris near Liam's touch.

Liam gently bends down and kisses Iris on top of her tiny head.

Deeks picks Liam up off the bed and puts him on his shoulders.

"Come on buddy! Let's go get you some juice!" Deeks says as he walks out of the room.

One Month Later....

I carefully walk down the steps into the kitchen where Deeks is on the phone to his good friend, Sam Hanna.

Ever since Michele and I were abducted, they've been in contact with each other more than ever.

With Liam and Iris finally asleep upstairs, I walk to the fridge and take out a jug of cranberry juice.

I take a glass out of the cupboard and pour myself a full glass of the refreshing juice.

I put the juice back in the fridge and take a huge drink out of my glass.

With the glass still half full, I put it down on the counter and walk over to the island to grab an apple out of the fruit basket.

I wash the dark red apple under the water and dry it off with my sleeve.

I take a small bite out of the apple, grab my glass and take a seat at the island in a bar stool.

I stare at the vase of flowers Deeks got for me yesterday, a dozen Irises.
I smile at the thought of our baby girl.

As I continue to eat my apple, Deeks walks into the kitchen with his iPhone clutched in his hand.

He puts it down on the counter and runs both hands through his fluffy hair.

"What's wrong?" I ask before taking another sip of my juice.

Deeks walks over to the fruit basket and takes out an apple as well. He rubs the apple on his sleeve, and takes a huge bite.

"I just got off the phone with my boss," he says before taking another bite.

I stand up out of my chair and begin to walk towards Deeks.

"I'm being sent back to Afghanistan."

His words hit me like a bullet going through my chest.

My glass slips out of my hand and crashes on the floor. The red liquid spreads out over the ground through the shattered pieces of glass.

It represented my heart, a bleeding broken heart.

"Kensi?" Deeks asks as he rushes over to my side.

"T-they can't do this!" I say as Deeks helps me to the couch. "We just had Iris, and you haven't been home for a year yet-"

"Shhh," Deeks says as he pulls my into his chest. "I know this is hard to process at a time like this. NCIS has wrapped up the case involving your kidnapping and they have finally cleared me for active duty."

Tears start pouring out of my eyes like a waterfall. Deeks can't leave me. He just can't.
