It's been four months since Deeks has been deployed, and I couldn't be lonelier. Don't get me wrong, Monty's company is better than none.
In honour of our 4th wedding anniversary, I thought I would get Deeks a new dog. With the baby coming in five months, I just thought why not have a second addition?
I pull up to "Whiskers Pet Shop" and enter with Monty in hand.
"Hello there!" A friendly woman greeted.
"Can I help you with anything in particular?" She asks.
"Yes! Actually you could!! I'm looking for a new puppy for my husband!" I say cheerfully.
"Of course! Follow me!" She says as she walks me to the back of the store. I am immediately stopped by a three legged cat, scratching away at the window.
"What happened to this little guy?" I stop the woman in her tracks, and she smiles sadly.
"This poor guy was born without a fourth leg, he's been here for almost three weeks now. All his siblings have been adopted."
"I'll take him," I say with no hesitation. "No one deserves to be alone." I say putting my face up to the glass.
"Do you still want a puppy?" The woman quietly asks.
"Oh of course!! I'm an animal lover, and I've always wanted to have more than one pet!" I say as she walks me to a litter of new puppies.
One puppy stands out from the rest, the pure snow white puppy, sitting my itself. As soon as it sees Monty, it runs up and greets the older dog.
"I'll take this one!" I say as I point to the white dog.

I take Monty into the house first, then I take in the two new additions to the Deeks household.
I shut the front door behind me and place the two cages down on the ground.
I take off my coat and throw it one the coat rack.
"Here ya go!" I say as I open the two gate doors. The puppy immediately starts running towards Monty, while the cat stays close to me.
I pick him up and start cuddling with him. The cat starts purring in my arms.
This cat was beautiful. He was a black kitten with white little paws, and has the most bluish eyes, like Deeks.
"I'm going to name you, Socks." I say with a laugh.
I continue to pet the car while I look over at the puppy.
"I'm going to name him, Bolt."Just like the Disney character. This dog was full of energy and small, just like Bolt.
