I ran through the ER's doors crying, calling Kensi's name.
"I want to see my wife!!" I cried as I tried to storm in though the employees only part of the building.
I was held back by two male nurses, and Sam, who I didn't notice was there.
I stopped fighting my way through and dropped to my knees.
Sam kneeled beside me and pulled me into a hug. He helped me stand up, where I saw Callen walking my way.
"Can I uh- go see my wife?" I sniffled while I shoved my hands in my front pockets.
Callen looked me straight into my eyes and slowly nodded.
"She's not going to look the same as when you last saw her, Deeks. I must warn you." He said as held his clipboard to his chest.
I wiped a tear that was streaming its way down my face, and nodded at Callen.
"Follow me then." He said.
I slowly followed behind Callen, until we got the the doors were Kensi was said to be.
"Are you sure you want to go in?" Callen asked while holding the door knob.
I took a deep breath and nodded my head.
He opened the door and I saw my worst nightmare.

Kensi looked so pale and weak. Her lips and finger tips were blue. She had a huge bandage wrapped around her abdomen, and the machine keeping her alive was pumping air into her lungs. She had multiple blood bags and IV's inserted into her arms.
"We do have some good news, Deeks. We were able to save the baby, as the bullet just grazed the uterus, we were able to stitch it back up." Callen said with slight smile.
I sat down in the chair next to Kensi and carefully grabbed her hand. Her hand was ice cold, it was like she had held her hand in an ice bucket too long.
The steady best of her heart was sounded on a machine, right behind my chair.
"I'm so glad you're alive, Kens. I really am." I said as I kissed the tip of her hand.
"She'll wake up when ever she's ready, Martin. You know she'll always come back to you." Callen said as he squeezed my shoulder before walking through the doors.
I glanced back over at Kensi who almost looked at peace. After being away from home for a couple months I'm happy to see that's she's safe.
I intertwined my fingers with Kensi, and I felt a weight being lifted off my shoulders. My wife was finally home.

I read to Kensi everyday. The doctors keep telling me that she can hear me, and that I should only say positive things.Hetty had brought Liam over today, along with some of his toys and diaper bag. Callen hooked my up with a hospital bed for Liam to sleep in, and I just sleep in the chair beside Kensi's bed.
I was reading to Liam, who was sitting on my lap, when Callen walked through the doors.
"Hey, G! What's up?" I asked as I put the book down, and stood up holding Liam on my hip.
"Nothing much, I just came to change Kensi's bandages and IV's." He said with a smile.
"Of course! Go right ahead!" I gesture towards Kensi's bed.
Callen smiles and walks out the door to retrieve a trolley, containing bandages, IV bags, scissors, tape, etc.
"Would you like me to get those clothes washed for you, Deeks? I can hook you up with some essentials, a shower and some scrubs? I mean only if you want to..." Callen said as he started to pull of Kensi's gown.
"I'd love that, thank you Callen." I say as I place Liam down in the chair.
I watch carefully as Callen slowly unwraps the bloody gauze. A slight baby bump is viable, which gives me a smile.
"After her stitches come out, she'll be able to get an ultra sound, but until then she'll be bandaged up." Callen says as he begins re-wrapping Kensi's abdomen.
"I really appreciate everything you've done for her, Callen. I will never be able to re pay..." I say as Callen replaces one of the many bags connected to Kensi's arm.
"She's like my sister, Deeks. It's what families do." Callen says with a smile.
Before Callen could finish changing IV bag, Kensi starts to seizure on the bed.
"I need assistant!!" Callen yelled as he tries to hold Kensi down.
"What's happening?" I ask in panic. Lia starts screaming in fear, so I pick him up and pat him slightly on the back.
"She's trying to fit the incubator, she's trying to breath on her own." Callen said as three nurses run in the door.
Liam starts to calm down, while I'm pushed out of the room as I see Callen and another nurse holding Kensi doen, telling her not to panic.
After what seems like eternity, Callen and the three nurses walk out of the door.
"Is she alright?" I quickly ask.
Callen nodded and patted me on the shoulder.
"It's a good sign, Deeks. Her body's starting to heal. Being able to breath on her own is a big deal. She may even wake up soon."
"Thanks Callen." I say with a nod.
He smiles at me and walks towards another patients room.
I walk up to the glass windows, and glance at Kensi.
"Come back to me Kens, come back."
