F/N's perspective
It was the first night in our new temporary HQ in the Marg Highlands. All of Night Raid gathered around a flickering fireplace as we discussed our next move.
Akame: "As of late, the Empire has been expanding its military. At this stage, we aren't powerful enough to take them on."
Nejenda: "Yes, the day of the revolution is coming soon. Let's use this time to train while we have the luxury. Along with that, I wouldn't count on any more reinforcements, so consider those around you. They are all you have."
Lubbock: "Yeah, however, we should have our guardian angel to look after us."
He said, nudging my shoulder as I tried to drink some tea, thankfully none of it spilling as I shifted. Coughing slightly, I set the cup down and wiped my mouth.
F/N: "Yes, of one timeline. That was before I was introduced to the equation."
I stated as Lubbock cocked his head to the side while raising an eyebrow.
Lubbock: "Um, English?"
IG: "What my master is stating is that he has foreseen one turn of events. While he has been graced twice with accuracy, his ability to save you may not be accurate."
Lubbock: "Wait, so you're saying that he might be wrong?"
He asked, even more confused than before. However, that was until Leone bonks his head, a puny whelp forming as he clutched his noggin.
Leone: "He's saying not to get careless. We don't have a safety net under us."
Bulat: "Which is exactly why we must get stronger."
F/N: "Yeah...
I muttered as I slumped into the couch but stopped with a hiss. Everyone looked my way as I slowly sat back up, a hand moving its way over the burn.
Nejenda: "Though for some, it's also a time to heal."
Akame: "Do you need me to-
F/N: "No, no, I'm ok. I'll turn in early for the night; come on, IG."
I said and got up slowly. The fire cracked a little loader as the logs shifted on my departure. I felt their gazes upon me as the droid and I walked out of the common room. Only the moonlight paved our path through the halls of the woodland mansion. Though as we came to a fork, my droid stopped as I went down a separate path.
IG: "Sir, your quarters are this way."
He said, gesturing with his whole arm down the opposite hall. I nodded and turned my head a bit back at him as I kept walking.
F/N: "I know, get everything settled. There's something I need to do."
IG: "...Yes, sir."
It said before lowering its arm and heading down the hall, disappearing into our shared quarters. Once he had gone inside, I turned and continued on my path, eventually moving outside to the baths. Rubbing my back a bit, I removed my clothing and placed them over a rock. Though, before leaving, I put my hand into one of the upper pockets of the coat. My fingers rubbed against the cool silver that made up the Imperial arm.
A spark of energy went through my finger as it ran across the dragon head engraved into the ring. Clutching onto it, I drew my hand out and headed into the water, spray from the waterfall already covered the surface of the water. Sinking in with a sigh escaped my lips, my gaze moved down to the ring in my hand. The blue jewel in the center glowed as it made contact with the water.
