F/N's perspective
After the escapades upon arriving at our newly established hideout, Night Raid had sent out to deal with the new Danger beast threat. I had teamed up with Tatsumi and Lubbock under the boss's orders, the latter of those two not as happy about the arrangement as he bitched and moaned.
Lubbock: "Why do I have to be paired up with the guys again? This is so unfair."
He said as we walked along a rocky path that weaved through a mountainous area around the Capital. I sighed and glanced back at him, the green-haired assassin walking nonchalantly with his arms behind his head.
Tatsumi: "Well, maybe because this isn't kissy kissy time, we have a mission."
Lubbock: "Yeah yeah, not like that would be hard for F/N over here."
He said with a pout as I looked back ahead, a groan of annoyance leaving my lips from my helmet's speaker.
F/N: "Lubbock, just stop. I already have 'those' two teasing me. I don't need your bitching on top of that."
Lubbock: "Whatever, you two should stay alert. There may be night patrols."
Tatsumi: "Brilliant topic shift Lub, but no need to be so jumpy."
He said in an unamused tone as Lubbock acted like he was actively searching around us, though it looked more paranoid than anything. However, Lubbock looked over at him with a narrowed gaze before getting up in Tatsumi's face.
Lubbock: "Hey, being vigilant is an important part of being an assassin, Najenda said so herself!"
He said before backing off, Tatsumi putting up his hands in defense before a look of realization took over from his look of confusion.
Tatsumi: "You did it again."
Lubbock: "Huh? Did what?"
Tatsumi: "Everyone mostly calls her just boss, but you call her Najenda. Why is that?"
Lubbock: "Um... yeah, I guess I do. I mean, Najenda and I go way back when she was still part of the Imperial army. I was the fourth son of a wealthy merchant guild. I had whatever I wanted when I was growing up, skilled at most things too, so life was kind of boring."
F/N: "Wow, you had it so rough."
Lubbock: "Oh shut up, it's going to be a real tear-jerker. "
He said as we stopped, the speaker in question leaning up against the cliff wall to our right as he continued his tale.
Lubbock: "Well, after a while, Najenda got assigned to the town where I lived. It was love at first sight. So what else could I do but join the army and work my way up the ranks, doing whatever it took to get closer to her."
Tatsumi: "So, if you were part of the army, why are you with Night Raid."
Lubbock: "Well, it's out of love for her, I guess. When she left the Empire, I forged my records saying I died to follow her. Though she doesn't feel the same, it's a one-sided love. I told you it was a tear-jerker."
F/N: "You know that's nice and all, but maybe she would feel a bit different if you stopped looking at naked chicks in the bath, you perv."
Lubbock: "WHAT?! Looking at hot chicks nude and being in love are separate things! You can't do that to me!"
F/N: "You idiot! I might be dense but I at least know enough that your logic is bullshit!"
Lubbock: "You'll see, one of these days she'll come around."
