"Hey, Evie, Calum." Ashton spoke in front of us.
I responded back with a kind "hi" because I didn't know what else to say. I didn't know what he wanted but I had no reason to be rude to him, he was never rude to be, in fact, he was always very sweet.
"I just wanted to see how you were doing after the... accident?"
"I'm alright, thankfully. I'm still trying to register that it even happened."
"Alright, well, we all need to get to class but I'm always here if you need." He patted my back and smiled before walking off.
"That was odd." Calum and I both said at the same time, laughing afterwards.
The school day was quite boring so far but I finally got to a class that had Derek in it and I was so thankful because I had actually missed him, a lot.
"Hey babe, how have you been? I wanted to come visit but Calum said I should just let you rest since you'd be out and back here soon."
"I'm okay, better than okay now that I'm out of that hospital and finally back to my normal life."
We spent the rest of class quietly laughing, making jokes and small talk here and there. I think I was actually developing a crush on him but I didn't really mind.
"Do you want to hangout after school?"
"Yeah, I'd enjoy that. See you after."

I remembered to text Calum and let him know what I was doing so he wouldn't worry like he always did. Meanwhile, I waited outside of school for Derek. I didn't know what were doing but I was excited to hangout with someone different for once, again.
"I was thinking ice cream?" He said as he walked up to me.
I simply nodded, enjoying the idea as we headed to his car. I looked around to notice mostly everyone was gone already, which was understandable. Kids were in a rush to get as far away from this place as they could.
The car ride was silent for the most part, and I didn't mind. We could do all our talking once we got our ice cream and sat down. He actually took me to my favorite shop, which was surprising because there was plenty for him to choose from.
He made me tell him what I wanted so he could order and pay, which I tried to refuse but he wasn't having any of it so I finally huffed and walked off to find a table for us.
I was admiring him as he ordered, finally really taking in his appearance. He was quite the attractive person and I can't believe I never really stopped to actually notice how good looking he was, I guess it was just a major plus to his good personality, or at least from what I know he seems to have a good personality.
He came back and I thanked him before I started eating. We didn't talk much while we ate either but we instantly picked up on conversation once we were done and by the time we were ready to leave I could tell I had a definite crush on the guy. I guess I would see where this went, whatever it is I have with him.
-
"Did you have fun with Derek?" Calum asked as soon as I walked in the door.
"Yeah. I just have mixed feelings. I get weird vibes from him but at the same time I have a crush on him, it's strange."
"It'll all workout." He smiled, patting my back.
"Speaking of crushes, I have someone I want you to meet." He added, making me raise my eyebrows.
"Hmm?" I questioned as I heard a knock on the door.
He left to go answer it, leaving me confused. Is he crushing on someone? He hadn't talked about anyone, at least to me anyways. Maybe he was talking to Josh about it? That guy on guy talk, but I still felt like even though I was a girl he could talk to me about relationship stuff.
"Evie, Lexi. Lexi, Evie."
He introduced me to a tall, gorgeous, brunette haired girl. She looked as sweet as can be and I hoped her personality matched because if so, I definitely could see us getting along.
"Hi." She smiled shyly.
"Hello, it's lovely to meet you."
For once I wasn't the one being shy and it felt weird. I had a small conversation with her before leaving Calum and her to be alone even though he insisted I should just stay.
I hope they workout, even though I don't think they're official yet, it would be nice to have another girl around for once, for a change.
