I was quite sleepy and I started drifting off a lot in the car. Luke ended up picking me up bridal style and carrying me into the house but once we were in I felt like I was wide awake.

It was a little late so I was trying my best to be quiet but Luke was slowly watching me before he started laughing, extremely loudly might I add, and I was confused, trying to get him to quiet down.

"She's not home, Eves."

"You asshole." I slapped his chest.

"You could've told me that beforehand." I added, making us both laugh.

Everything went silent momentarily as we just stood there, lost in each other's worlds. I didn't know what to say, and I know he didn't know what to say.

I was quite cold since it got a little chillier outside as nighttime reached us, so I started rubbing my arms up and down but Luke noticed and didn't let it slide by.

"Are you still cold from outside?" I nodded.

"Sit down on the couch and grab a blanket, I'll go make hot chocolate."

I did exactly that, walking over to the couch and grabbing one of the blankets draped over it, pulling it around me. I looked around, as I have done every time I have been back here since what happened between Luke and I.

I was done saying that I was done because look where I am right now, I'm also done being confused. I guess we aren't friends but he still cares for me which is understandable since we were friends for so long.

I got so lost in thought that I didn't even realize Luke has returned and set a cup in front of me. It took him saying my name three times and snapping his fingers to finally get my attention.

"Thank you." I whispered, picking up the cup.

I went to take a sip but suddenly stopped, causing Luke to look at me weird.

"Do you not like it?"

"I haven't even taken a sip, it's just, you remembered exactly how I like it." I said, surprised.

"Yeah, extra chocolate, small marshmallows but just enough to cover the liquid, one big marshmallow on top and whip cream around thatstan mallow." He smiled.

"Thanks again, it's been a while since the last time I had hot chocolate."

"Really?"

"Yeah, whenever we last had it."

"Damn, that was a while ago. When we went up north to visit my family."

"We were young and shy, we ignored everyone all weekend and played in the snow."

"Remember you got lost and I was terrified. I cried like all day, even after we found you."

"I was so young, I thought it was hilarious."

"I miss those times."

"Believe me, so do I." I gave him a sad smile.

Once we had sat there for a while he stood up and walked over to his radio/cd player and started flipping through the music. He finally found, I guess, what he was looking for which was a slow song.

He walked back over to me, offering me his hand but I just gave him a confused look. "What are you doing?" I finally asked when he didn't say anything.

"I promised you I would be the one to take you to prom and technically I wasn't but you look even more beautiful than usual and I'm still in my tux so let's not let it go to waste. Can I have this dance?"

I was a bit taken aback but I did realize we were still in our prom cloths and my night got ruined, so why not?

I knew tomorrow, things would go back to normal and I would be all sad over it again but I still stayed and enjoyed my time right now, because tonight turned out pretty okay and who knew it would be all because of my "best friend."
