"WAIT!"
The words deafen an already silent room

George stands up from his seat stomping up the steps to stand between the couple
"I cant let this happen I'm sorry..."

The memory still fresh in his head he sits there on the ground as the watchers file out leaving the church barren and cold,

"Fundy?.."
He couldn't look up to face puffy yet he couldn't handle an empathetic look,
He didn't want to feel like he needed to be babied,
The eyes burned on him Everyone would be expecting him to do something but all he could do was stay on the floor waiting for it all to melt away like a bad fever dream,
"You can go now.."
The words croaked out his throat with a struggle like him himself wasn't even fully convinced he was speaking,
"Im not leaving you here"
"I dont want you here"
Fundys eyes burn refusing to blink as it would just release the tears like breaking a dam or opening a flood gate,
"Im just trying to hel-"
"Well stop helping"
Fundy stood up not lifting his head to meet Puffys eyes
"I never asked for your help".

"Mama!...mama!"
The little boy giggles running from room to room seeking out sally,
"Mama?.."
the little boy peeks through the door as it creeks open,
stepping inside the room the lady jumps out from the wooden closet scooping the child up her arms
"Ahhhh! I got youuu!"
Fundy screams with glee.

Sitting in his mothers lap he burrows his hands and face into her puffy red hair,
She pats his head smoothing out his wild hair,
She starts singing the songs of the country rocking her son in her arms ,
(Chopped some stuff out for story purposes but yk i had to do it)

"I heard there was a special place-

Where men could go and emancipate,
The brutality
And tyranny
Of their rulers-

Well, this place is real
You needn't fret"

She hums for a moment as she pieces together the lyrics she's forgotten,
Fundy yawns closing his eyes groggily falling asleep,

"My L'Manburg
My L'Manburg-

-My L'Manburg
My L'Manburg"
Fundy swings a stick as it smacks nearby trees and shrubs with a harsh whack,
His songs cut out by a snapping twig nearby in the trees
Normally he'd think nothing of it but this time it spooked him,
And for a good reason,
About a feet to the right in the trees stood a hooded figure,
In a matter of a second Fundy was standing then he was running away,
Feeling ok till the figure starts following suit,
More panicked now Fundy sped up jumping up and taking form of a fox to give more speed,
Darting through carefully placing his paws so he doesn't tumble and fall,
Speeding out into what looks like a clearing the edge of a cliff slowly comes into view,
Struggling to stop Fundy almost skids off the side crashing to the rocks below,
Transforming back he looks around for somewhere to go when his eyes are drawn to where he came from,
The dark figure appears from the shadows ,

"For freedom and for liberty...

Our nation sought to build on these...

A victory for all under our freedom..

Well the darkness came and then it went

We built a home and watched it sink
And from the rubble
Emerged..

my great
L'Manburg"

"Who are you? How do you know that?"
Fundy shouts,
The figure pulls down their hood pulling out that signature red hair

"Mum!"
Fundys face drops with horror
