I had mixed emotions on my first day at work. I just got so use to chilling in the house, being half naked, eating and sleeping as I pleased.

I stole Tiana's dark purple dress for the day. I figured it was work appropriate. I wanted to be cute for my first day. I redid my half ponytail and put on some lashes.

I wanted to show off to Tiana before I left but she was knocked out.

"Kya right?" The blonde Kaylie asked coming up to my station.

I smiled "yes, and you're Kaylie?...you're so pretty by the way"

"Awww thank you! You're pretty too! I really love your hair"

I smiled "thank you"

"Don't be nervous I promise you, this job is super fun. Most of us are pretty cool and willing to work with each other. Just watch out for Jessica she's kind of a rule stickler."

"I can tell" I said looking over at Jessica. She was starting on her first old lady of the day. The lady was literally waiting in her car for the salon to open when I pulled up.

"What y'all over here talking about?" Carmen came up pretending to be strict. 

I laughed. "How fun Jessica is."

"Fun?" She laughed too. "Yea, just about as fun as my ex husband. He's an ex for a reason" she hinted.

"Okay ladies, your stations better be ready for clients" Tiffany said walking past us.

I smiled. What was I so worried about? This feels just like cosmetology school... but that makes me miss Bri. I wish we still talked.

I didn't have any clients that morning, I just kinda sat around and watched Carmen and Kaylie so I'd know what to expect.

"Kya... while I remember, walk with me" Tiffany said circling back around to me.

"Okay.."

"You're not in trouble, I just wanted to grab you before I go to lunch and forget."

I followed her up to the front desk.

"You remember Bailey, our receptionist and cashier..." she said walking me up to her.

"Of course I do"

"I left this out yesterday, but each stylist is responsible for keeping in the loop with her, making sure she knows what clients you have coming in so she doesn't double book."

The bell rungas the door opened gaining Bailey and Tiffany's attention. I was too busy looking at Bailey's screen. Trying to figure out how the scheduling system works.

"Hey, I just want to do a wash and curl treatment today" I familiar voice said gaining my attention to.

"And I want it done by her"  I looked up ready to smile and be nice but froze.

Jaylen.

She smiled shyly.

She hadn't changed much, she still had the same smooth skin, baby face, long hair.

"Oh perfect! Your first client." Tiffany said excited.

"Let me just check you in" Bailey said pulling up the screen.

I didn't know how to react, it's my first day at the job. I don't want everybody thinking I'm crazy. I stood there with a dumb smile on my face.

"Well Jaylen, Kya will be happy to take care of you" Tiffany spoke for me after Bailey checked Jaylen in.
