1. How did you adjust your writing in your stories, may naapektuhan ba because of work/acads and life?

For someone like me who has a full time job, hindi talaga maiiwasan na maapektuhan ang pagsusulat, both positive and negative. Mas naging discplined ako sa pag-manage ng oras para kahit may trabaho ay makakapaglaan pa rin ako sa pagsusulat. However, sometimes, it comes to a point na nawawalan na ako ng social life. Sometimes, hindi ko nakakausap ang friends ko.

2. What do you prefer to write: Series or Standalone stories? Why?

I started writing off standalone stories, and the experience was awesome and fulfilling, lalo na kapag nakatapos ka ng nobela. Pero noong natapos na, I felt the separation anxiety, and I think most of my readers felt the same way. Kaya naisip kong magsulat ng spin-offs ng Mijares family. Hanggang sa naisipan ko nang magsulat ng series talaga para hindi ko maramdaman ang sepanx sa characters ko.

3. How do you motivate yourself to keep writing?

Most of the time, the motivation comes from the story itself. Kasi everytime na nagpapahinga ako, parang hindi ako matahimik. I feel like I have an unfinished business and need kong tapusin. Kaya madalas, natatagpuan ko na lang ang sarili kong nagta-type. I think it's the innate connection towards your characters.

4. Among your stories, what particular scene is difficult for you to write?

Most of my stories are character driven. Kaya madalas kahit may outline na ako ng kuwento, nagbabago pa rin siya kapag sinusulat ko na. Hindi ko napapansin na naaapektuhan na pala ang timeline ng ibang stories na part ng series. I think the hardest was when I write The Wild Deception, kasi maraming characters from Mijares series na nag-crossover. And I needed to pull off several twists para tumugma sa ibang stories, lalo na 'yong kasal nina Liberty at Dark Blue.

5. Saan kayo mas nacha-challenge sa pagbuo ng first chapter o sa epilogue?

I always find it hard to start a story. Minsan may climax na ako at ending pero hindi ko alam kung paano sisimulan para mag-arrive ang characters sa ending na naiisip ko. Pero kapag nasimulan ko na, tuloy-tuloy naman na.

6. If you can bring one of your characters to life, who will it be and why?

Ang hirap mamili. Bustamante brothers and Zero Degree boys. Pero sa ngayon siguro gusto kong makausap at makaharap si Timothy Hugh. Kasi feeling ko ang lalim niyang tao at marami akong matututunan sa kanya.

7. Among your characters, who's the closest to you? Why?

David's character was inspired from a close friend. Matalino siya, malalim
mag-isip, at maprinsipyo. Nagkakamali at nakakasakit rin siya dahil sa paninindigan niya. Pero he's a trustworthy person. Napaka-gentleman. He's someone na komportable akong sabihin lahat ng problema ko. Above all, tech savvy siya. Marami akong natutunan sa kanya sa technical, particularly sa pag-troubleshoot ng OS.

8. If you could collaborate with any author (local man or international), who would it be and why?

I always love the way Jamille Fumah tells her stories. Kung mabigyan ng pagkakataon, gusto ko siyang makasama sa brainstorming. Gusto kong malaman paano siya humuhugot ng character arcs niya.

9. Anong famous story (be it classic or contemporary Literature) ang hinihiling mong ikaw ang nakapagsulat? Bakit?

Harry Potter. Writing a fantasy novel is always been frustration. Pakiramdam ko kasi lahat naisulat na. Harry Potter is also one of the most celebrated fantasy novels.

10. What are your future plans in your writing career?

I've been planning to write more series and maybe I will go into self-publishing muna. If there are opportunities na maging scriptwirter, willing din akong mag-aral.
