QUESTIONS / MGA TANONG

1. How did you adjust your writing in your stories, may naapektuhan ba because of work/acads and life?

-I still write almost every day. Nothing has really been affected by work or life, but should anything pop up that demands my attention, I focus on that first so I can return to my normal routine as soon as I can.

2. What do you prefer to write: Series or Standalone stories? Why?

-I prefer series with standalone titles. I get to play with a general plot that connects all stories. One main reason is I easily lose interest writing about the same main characters, so I focus on different characters each book.

3. How do you motivate yourself to keep writing?

-I constantly find myself needing to write because I love doing it. Procrastination is my greatest weakness, but it is also my greatest motivator. The looming deadlines I set for myself (such as strict weekly updates) is enough to get me typing.

4. Among your stories, what particular scene is difficult for you to write?

-Having written quite a number, I think I still find fight scenes challenging.

5. Saan kayo mas nacha-challenge sa pagbuo ng first chapter o sa epilogue?

-I find first chapters as the most challenging. The ending is most often already in my head, but the beginning and the hook are the most significant in my opinion. Not just for the readers, but also for me as the writer. I have to be hooked by the first few story beats first so I can keep writing the rest.

6. If you can bring one of your characters to life, who will it be and why?

-Avi from How Not to Villain. He's based on a Philippine mythological god and I would love to hear epochs worth of stories from him, how humans messed everything up, and all other tragic mistakes the gods made (after creating the humans, of course).

7. Among your characters, who's the closest to you? Why?

-Lady Angela Worthington from A Stark Mismatch. We have the same views on relationships and humanity. We both know we may be wrong, but we stand by our odd beliefs without expecting others to follow.

8. If you could collaborate with any author (local man or international), who would it be and why?

-Paulo Coelho. He would do the writing. I would just admire the wonders of his mind whilst prodding thoughts on writing and life in general from him.

9. Anong famous story (be it classic or contemporary Literature) ang hinihiling mong ikaw ang nakapagsulat? Bakit?

-Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. I love the romance (one of my favorite tropes) and also the subtle mystery throughout the book.

10. What are your future plans in your writing career?

-Keep learning. Avoid carpal tunnel syndrome. Take care of my vision. Then write some more. I also hope to continue publishing my works, but that's not always up to me. A few other things have to conspire for that.

BONUS: Please leave a message for your readers.

-To all Gossipmongers all over the world, thank you for giving me a chance, and then for staying. You all continue to astound me with your wits and loyalty throughout the years. To more teas and milestones together! Cheers!
