Title: Catastrophe

Eyes stinging with salty tears,

And like a river escaping a dam, it flowed down my cheeks,

I could hear their pitiful woes wreathed with fear and desperation,

From a recorded video of a survivor's phone.

It was posted hours ago,

'Were they safe?' 'Alive?' That I have yet to know,

Truly, we cannot escape Mother nature's wrath,

And when that time comes, be sure to be ready as we trekk her destructive path.

As we learned more about disaster,

We knew that we are facing Death itself,

Yet can we cheat our demise?

Only time will tell.

Though, as time advances,

So did our technological devices,

Our knowledge has also sprouted,

I guess It's time to take that fruitful endeavor into action.

Assessing and mitigating risks can aid us,

Preparing ourselves from these catastrophes is not a paranoia, so stop your fuss!

It's better to be prepared than to face these problems unplanned,

Our death would be inevitable if we continue to please our ignorance.

Awareness is a must!

For life does not discriminate between the sinners and the saints,

Empower yourselves with knowledge,

For the most dangerous disasters doesn't always lurk at nighfall—so be prepared!
