*4 Months Later*
Jessica, Will, April, Maggie, Connor, and the rest of the Chicago med ED we're staring at the TV. Watching the tragic events happening at Willis Tower. A massive fire had broken out. Parts of the building were collapsing due to the heat of the flames.
Jessica's hand was laying on her stomach praying that everyone at 51 was okay. Kelly had sent her a text letting her know 51 was on their way to the tower. That was 2 hours ago. They had seen very few patients from the tower due to the fact everyone they rescued was already dead.
Will grabbed Jessica's other hand trying to calm her nerves. "Kelly is going to be just fine Jess. He was trained for this."
All Jessica could do was nod her head. She wanted to believe Will but it was hard for her. Maggie took a phone call. Sounded as if they had pulled someone out alive.
"Dr. Severide Dr. Halstead incoming from the tower. Smoke inhalation, intubated on scene, and possible broke bones."
Will and Jessica headed for the doors waiting for the ambulance to arrive. They heard the sirens first before seeing 61 pull up. Jessica's heart stopped. Her and Will run out to greet Brett and Mackey.
Jessica gets a look at the victim on the stretcher and feels relieved that it's not Kelly. They rush the female victim into the ED and to trauma one.
"On my count. 1..2...3." Dr. Halstead gives the order and everyone moves the girl over to the hospital bed. Dr. Halstead starts giving out more orders.
Jessica follow Brett and Mackey out the trauma room. "Hey Brett. How's Kelly doing?"
"The best he can. It's very chaotic." Jessica nodded and then went back into the room to help Will.
Brett and Mackey headed back to the scene.

The ED became very busy very quickly. They started to find more people alive and rushing them to the hospital. The trauma rooms and hallways were soon becoming over run by patients.
Jessica hadn't sat down all day no matter how much everyone tried to get her to sit down. She just kept telling everyone that she was fine.
Jessica was tending to another patient when she saw Dr. Rhodes running towards Baghdad, along with Brett and Mackey.
All Jessica could make out on the stretcher was a firemen's coat. Her heart dropped to her stomach. She handed off the patient to a nurse and ran to Baghdad. As she got closer she could see Brett was crying.
Jessica entered the room and moved closer to the patient. That's when she saw the blonde hair. "Casey?!" Jessica grabbed one of his hands. "Brett what happened?!"
"We don't know... Severide carried him out after another collapse happened." Brett was doing her best to hold it together. Both girls were looking at Matt's soot covered face.
"Dr. Severide. I can use your help!" Jessica jumped in to help Connor in order to save Casey. Brett and Mackey were escorted out of the room.
The last thing the paramedics heard was the sound of Jessica screaming. Matt had flatlined.
***
2 hours after Matt had been brought in, all of 51 was sitting in the waiting room waiting to find out how their Captain was doing. Kelly had tried texting Jessica several times but she didn't respond.
Connor and Jessica come walking out of the ED both of them covered in blood and other bodily fluids. Jessica looking completely defeated and dead on her feet.
The two doctors stopped in front of the firefighters from firehouse 51. Chief Boden stood up to greet the doctors. "How's my man?" Chief looked from Jessica to Connor and then back to Jessica.
"Uh... he... uh...." Jessica was trying to find the words. "He's gone. The injuries he sustained from the collapse were to traumatizing to his body. There was to much damage to his internal organs."
All of 51 feel into silence. Tears falling from all of their eyes. Kelly walked over to Jessica and embraced her in a hug. While they both cried. No one wanting to accept what had happened.
"Can we see him?"
Jessica pulled back from Kelly and looked at Chief. "Yes but not everyone at once it's very..." Jessica stopped talking feeling a pain course through her body.
She stood there another second seeing if it passed. But then another one came. Jessica screamed out in pain. Her hands flying to her stomach. Kelly and Connor have to catch her before she collapsed to the ground.
"Jessica??" Kelly was looking at her with concern written all over his face.
"She's going into labor."
Kelly's head shot in Connors direction. "Now?!"
"Yes now Kelly!" Dr. Rhodes looked around for a second till his eyes landed on a nurse. "April! Get me a wheelchair!"
April ran and grabbed the chair and brought it over. That's when she realized who she was bring the chair for. "Jess we got you. You are going to be okay."
They got Jessica into the chair and then rushed off to labor and delivery. Kelly running right behind them.

Jessica was laying in her hospital bed watching Kelly hold their son. She didn't know it was possible but she fell even more in love with him at this very moment.
Jessica's happiness would only last for a few minutes and then she would remember that Matt was gone and would never get to hold his nephew.
There was a knock at their hospital room door. The door then opened and all of 51 started to make their way into the room.
"Hey guys." Jessica tried to smile.
"There's the new parents." Chief Boden walked over to Kelly to look down at the sweet baby. "He's beautiful."
"Yeah he is." Kelly couldn't stop smiling. "You want to hold him Chief?"
"I'd be honored." Kelly handed their baby over to Chief Boden.
Boden took the little baby and began to Coo and make cute faces at the little one. Kelly went and sat next to Jessica and wrapped an arm around her. The two watched as all of 51 got closer to Boden to get a good look at the new little Severide.
"What's his name?" asked Hermann.
Kelly and Jessica shared a look. Then Jessica spoke. "Matthew Casey Severide." There was not a dry eye in that hospital room.
