I've planned this since before we even left for Africa. I have been secretly in contact with the resort's owner to ask for help in having the most expensive jeweler come in in secret so I can choose the ring. It was actually good that she preferred to stay and rest when we got here. Perfect time to get her the ring. So on the way out, I called the manager to have the jeweler come in. I actually requested for them to customize a ring for Jessica. I want hers to be unique, that no other woman could ever have.

When we first arrived in the Giraffe Manor, I went back down to the lobby after we got in our suite. Jessica thought I was finalizing our itinerary or something. Well, kind of yes, but it was more to make important calls.

I first called Jessica's parents.

"Hi Sara, how are you? Have you guys landed already?" her Mom answered.

"Good morning Ma'am. I am not sure what time it is there right now so sorry if I called in an odd hour. And yes we have landed already. Jessica and the kids are in our suite and probably unpacking. I went down to the lobby so I could speak with you both." I was so nervous I can throw u all the insides of my stomach. I kept pacing the lobby back and forth.

"Oh, sure. Hold on let me put you on speaker."

"Hi Sara! What's up?" Jessica's stepfather joined in.

"Hi Sir good morning. Uhm, I'm sorry if I have to do this over the phone. I just did not have the time and I was not sure what excuse I could give Jessica if I was to travel to Missouri. Uhm..... I was calling because I wanted to ask for your blessing."

"Are you proposing to my daughter?" he asked with a serious voice. The more I became nervous trying not to think of the worse but I really feel like fainting now.

"Uhm, yes Sir, I plan to. I love Jessica so much. I love Luke as if he was my own too. Since we got together, we've managed to build a family that stands on love. I cannot promise that maybe some where in our future, we'd fight and maybe I'd hurt her. I guess that is normal no matter how much you love someone. But what I can promise you is that, I will love, respect, and protect her every day, with every breath I have, even on her most difficult times"

"Sara, we have no doubt that you will and we know, we can see and feel how much you love our daughter and our grandson. I hope you know that we trust you. And the moment you got together, we have accepted you and Sofia into our family. We love you. So, yes, you have our blessing" Jessica's Mom answered. I can feel her excitement.

"Thank you so much, both of you. Really,"

"So when are you planning to do it?" her Dad asked.

"I was thinking on the last week of our stay here, at the beach. But there's one more thing I need to ask from you."

"What is it? Anything." Her mom answered this time.

"I was hoping to fly you guys out here, including all her siblings, when that happens. I want the most important people in our lives be present and witness this milestone."

"Oh yes of course! Anything for our daughters. When do you want us there so we can book our tickets." Her Dad spoke again, this time I can almost feel the wide smile on his face.

"Oh no need to worry about that. I'm pretty sure my Dad would prefer to fly in on his private plane so no need to worry. I'll take care everything. I'll book all of you in a private villa next to our resort just to be safe that Jessica does not accidentally run into any of you."
