Sara

It's been a week since we got back home and I couldn't be more thankful of the opportunity we had to be able to go on a vacation as a family for that long. It brought all of us closer to each other, not just us four, but also both Capshaw-Spielberg and Ramirez clans.

I was so blessed to see how each of our families have embraced and accepted the children and not once did I see or feel that they favored one over the other. The children are so blessed to have three sets of grandparents.

Today, I decided to prepare a big breakfast for my family, while Jessica is at our home office sorting out the schedule of the children. We start filming for season seven next week and we will be extremely busy. Thank God for grandparents!

As I mix the pancake batter, my thoughts drifted to the conversation I had with my parents and Judy when we were still in Africa.

"Dad, Mom, I need to discuss something with you."

"What is it Mija? Are you alright?" My dad asked.

"Yes I am, thank you. This is actually about Luke and Sofia. I want to adapt Luke. And as for Sofia, I really want Jessica to adopt her too. She has not expressed her intent nor have we discussed it just yet but it's just but an obvious move, right?"

"Of course! We would love to have Luke legally part of our family. I mean not that he isn't or won't be even if you won't adopt him but it makes it even more special if you do." My Mom exclaimed.

"Also, we'd want to give him equal rights to whatever we have for Sofia, we want to give him too without having to fight for the need to claim it in the future." My Dad added.

"So you guys are okay with it?"

"Of course!" then my Dad added, "Had you not talked to us about it, we would have talked to you."

"Thank you guys so much! Now, if you'd excuse me, I'll go find Judy to discuss the legalities."

I went to find Judy and asked her to have coffee with me that afternoon as Jessica and the kids were scheduled to be with her side of the family the whole day.

"Hey Sara, what's up? By the way congratulations again on your engagement! I wouldn't have prayed for anyone better than Jessica for you. She's perfect. She's your soulmate."

"She's the love of my life, Jud. And thank you!"

"So, what was that you wanted to talk about?'

"I want to adopt Luke and Jessica to adopt Sofia. We won't have any problems with Sofia as HE is not on her birth certificate. My concern is Luke's. Anything we can do or work around it so I can legally adopt him without having this be ragged in a long, nasty court battle with you know who?"

"Yeah, Luke's will be a challenging case, only if he won't cooperate or if we cannot find anything to use against him for the court to relinquish his right. But since we had that custody battle that already proved him unsuitable as a father, I'm sure we can work something out."

"Please and thank you. I want Luke to be legally mine.'

"I know you do and I will do everything in my power to make sure that happens."

"You think we can have this ready and done before Sofia's birthday? I kinda want this to be a gift."

"I will do my best. I'll have my team work on this now so that when we go back home, we only need to finalize things, okay? Nothing to worry. As for Sofia's since that's an easy one, I'll write up the papers already so you have that ready."
