There are things we have no control over.
"Ms. Reedley, are you even listening?" I snap back and look at my teacher as he rolls his eyes at my dazed face.
Shit.
"I..I'm sorry, cheer practice was tough and I got tired for a second. Could you please repeat that, sir?" I ask and he sighs, nodding.
He repeats the question and I give him an answer before he nods and sighs.
There are things, we couldn't help but feel.
"Very good, Ms. Reedley. But know that you being the head of our cheer squad would not always be an excuse for not paying attention in my class." He says and I nod.
There were things that I felt crazy for even thinking about.
"Ah, Mr. Victors I'm sure you could answer this one." My teacher says as he averts his gaze over to the boy behind me.
He looked up at my teacher in an instant, his eyebrow raised slightly at the sudden call of his name.
Victors, Oz Victors.
His hair was all tousled and unruly on the top of his head, his glasses framing those hypnotizing blue eyes.
However, those weren't the reasons I had no control over what I felt for him, why I was crazy for him.
"Umm, Cytokinesis sir. The process in which cells are literally said to divide. The cytoplasm of the original cell is divided into two separate daughter cells. It follows the telophase sir." He says without any break from the top of his head.
He was undeniably brilliant.
And I felt my panties dampen at his words.
Shit.
I could listen to him talk about anything and I'd seriously be done for.
I heard that sapiosexuality was what people called it, the attraction to someone highly intelligent.
Boy do I got it.
His eyes meet mine and I am forced to look away from him.
Oh no, was I too obvious?
"Very good, Mr. Victors. Well said." Our teacher says and I bite my lip in embarrassment from the eye contact.
Keep it together, Kat!
Before I could sneak a peek again at Oz, I hear snickers behind me.
"Nerd." Someone coughs and my blood begins to boil as I see Oz turn away with a frown.
The rest of the class chuckles along with him and my teacher glares at whoever had said it.
He didn't deserve this treatment.
He was just answering a damn question!
"Enough, class dismissed." Our teacher says and I get up.
My teacher eyes me and stops me in my tracks, raising a hand toward me.
"Except you, Ms. Reedley. Stay after class." My teacher says and I nod.
