Starting over was hard.

I had just graduated from highschool and was now a freshman at a new university. I had graduated from a completely different campus and now I had entered a college.

UOTS, one of the well known colleges from what I know of.

I was surprised I even got in.

I had taken up business, it was a serious course and all, so I was glad that my seatmate, Drew Egerton from my last class had asked me to be part of a band he was starting.

I was a pretty good drummer in my last band, too bad we had to break up since we were going to different universities.

It had been fate for me to play again, I guess.

I didn't want college to be all about studies and business. I wanted to incorporate a few hobbies and extracuricculars as well.

Today he had asked me to meet him at his place for our first practice together. He wanted me to meet the rest of the band of course. He had already recruited a guitarist and singer, all he needed was a drummer I guess.

I knock on his door and he instantly swings it open, grinning at me.

"Glad you didn't back out, man. Come on in." He says with a chuckle and we head down to his basement where I suddenly hear a melodic tune.

The sound of a guitar being plucked fills the room and I smile at the tune.

That was some guitar playing.

Whoever had been playing it definitely had the skills.

"She's amazing isn't she?! I met her at a gig junior year. She agreed to be part of the band! I can't wait for you to meet them." Drew says and I nod.

We walk down the stairs and the music gets clearer. It literally sounded like a recording.

She was good.

All I see is her long hair that falls behind her as she continues to concentrate on the current solo that I don't think I've heard before.

There's another girl as well who is sitting in the corner and watching her play with a smile.

The girl suddenly stops her guitar playing and grabs a pen that rests behind her ears before jotting down a note on a piece of paper.

She was writing it down. She wrote that?

Woah.

She plays her guitar again and stops when Drew lets out a loud cough.

She finally turns around and my heart stops as I see her for the first time.

She was breathtaking.

Her eyes were wide and they were the most hypnotizing brown eyes I've seen. Freckles framed her face and she suddenly broke out into a gorgeous smile.

She's even more pretty when she smiled.

"Drew! I'm almost done with the solo." She says with excitement and I almost lose it there.

She was beautiful.

"That's great Kelly, can't wait to hear it. You're a musical genius." Drew says and suddenly places a hand on my shoulder.

"Who's that?" The other girl sitting down asks, sitting up straighter and eventually standing up to walk towards us.

Kelly's eyes finally land on me and I see her turn red for some reason, averting her eyes away quickly and back to Drew.

"This is our new drummer, Benjamin!" Drew says and I chuckle at his use of my full name.
