The Challenger (1 of 9)

"Students one single file! Stop pushing each other." The teacher says as my friends and I exit the science lab.

There had been a recent chemical explosion and the room was filled with smoke.

Everyone was in a rush to get out.

"Who the heck would be stupid enough to mix those two?!" The class president, Penelope exclaims as she storms out of the room along with her boyfriend beside her.

He chuckles at her and shakes his head.

"Relax baby cakes, you have to admit it is funny, but I swear it wasn't me this time." He says as I smirk.

I mean he was right, it wasn't him who caused the explosion.

I walk up to my friends as I chuckle.

I can't believe that actually worked.

"Pay up Dennis." I simply say as he laughs, placing the money he owes me in my palm.

If you haven't guessed it by now, I caused the little commotion.

"Never doubted you for a second." My other friend Lewis says as he places a hand on my shoulder.

My friends and I would come up with different challenges and bets to keep our college life interesting.

I for one, had never lost or backed down from a challenge.

I earn from it yes, but I really loved the rush of it all the most.

"I'm impressed Westley. I didn't think you could pull that off." Dennis says as I smile back, counting the money he had given me.

I could buy tons of stuff with this.

"Never doubt me, brother. All your money will be gone by the end of the school year." I say as he scoffs.

He eyes the wad of cash in my hand and shakes his head.

"I actually have already thought of your next challenge...if you accomplish it you get double what I just paid you." He says as my eyes instantly widen at that.

Double?!

"Really? You don't mind losing all your money then?" I ask as he smiles, shaking his head.

"...but if you can't do it, then you'll pay me that amount. Deal?" He asks as I frown.

I'd have to pay him? Easy. He's already given me so much this year.

"Sure, why not? What's your challenge this time? Setting the school on fire? " I joke as Lewis chuckles.

The bets Dennis offered were always so chaotic and involved damaging lots of property.

I wonder what he thought of this time.

"Actually, Wes this isn't as crazy as you think." He says with a smirk as I raise a brow at him.

Not as crazy? Coming from Dennis himself?

Was he high again?

"Come on Dennis, that would be too easy for our boy." Lewis says with a shake of his head.

Suddenly she walks out of the room, unfazed by all the ruckus everyone was causing.
