Just my luck.
When it was almost time for our "date" to end, suddenly there's a storm that has been said to be dangerous for traveling.
I lived far away from here and Wesley was supposed to be my ride home.
He couldn't drive me home in this weather.
Now we were at some random inn in the middle of nowhere.
It was a good thing Debbie knew whoever the owner of this place was.
I didn't know where I would stay if I wasn't with them.
"You alright, Ava? I'm sorry I only had one umbrella, you got all drenched either way." Wesley says as he frowns down at my drenched form.
The good thing about all black, it wasn't see through at all despite the rain wetting my clothes.
"It's alright. Your state is definitely worse than mine." I say, eyeing him with a chuckle as he gives me a small smile.
He had barely covered himself and did his best to cover me.
The storm however, was stronger than we anticipated and drenched the both of us despite the attempt to cover ourselves with the umbrella.
"True, I hope we don't get sick." He says as I nod.
Wesley was actually a nice guy. I hated to admit it but he had not given any red flags on our date whatsoever.
Well, besides the fact that he smurfed the race and didn't tell me he was trained by one of the best.
But hey, I think I could get past that.
Wait, was I actually going to give him a chance?
Debbie walks over to us and smiles with a sigh as she hands Wesley a key.
"Here you go, the key to your room. I booked myself a separate room, you don't mind sharing right? I'm sorry there are only two rooms left." Debbie says with a frown as my eyes widen.
I was going to share a room with Wesley?!
"I mean... maybe I should room with Ava here. Us girls you know, would that be more to your liking, dear?" Debbie asks as I sigh.
She had booked us the rooms. The least we could do was give her privacy.
I sigh and shake my head.
"It's fine Debbie. You take the room. We'll be fine. Thank you for booking us the room for a night." I say, truly grateful for her as she gives me a small smile.
Wesley eyes me curiously as I look back at him.
There was an unreadable look on his face as he stared at the keys in his hand.
"Okay, goodnight you two. I'll head up now." Debbie says as she walks away.
Off to our room now I guess.
. . .
"Fuck no! You have got to be kidding me." I say as I eye the bed in the middle of the room.
Only one bed?!
Wesley lets out a groan as he sighs.
"They must have only had one per room. Debbie probably didn't ask about it." Wes says as I frown.
What the hell were we supposed to do now?!
"Hey, relax. You take the bed, I'll lay a few blankets on the floor. It'll be alright." Wesley says as I look back at him.
He would sleep on the floor for me? Okay, now I felt guilty.
We remain silent as I slowly nod, not knowing what to say to that.
