I knock on Ursula's door as she pulls me into a hug.

I'm a sobbing mess at this point. It felt like a nightmare that I wanted to wake up from.

I needed to figure out how I was going to escape from home.

I packed all my valuables in my backpack and a few clothes as well.

Maybe I could stay with Ursula for a bit until I could figure out where else I could stay.

I just needed to finish the school year and think of how I can finish medical school.

"Oh June, it'll be okay. Stay here as long as you'd like." Ursula says as I nod, before pulling away from her hug.

I sigh and look to her.

"We are going out right? I just want to forget it all." I say as she nods.

"Sure we can, June. Let's go get ready. I'm meeting with Kyle there as well. We can all hang out if you'd like." She says as I nod.

Kyle was her boyfriend. They hated each other at one point but now they were totally in love. They just had a peculiar way of showing it, I guess.

"You can hang out with Kyle once we get there. As for me, I need a distraction. I just need to drink and hook up with someone, fuck." I say in exasperation before Ursula giggles.

Ursula pulls me to her room and I follow, getting ready to head out.

. . .

"Have I told you green was your color? You look pretty hot! You sure a hook up is all you're looking for? A man might propose right then and there." Ursula says as I roll my eyes.

Ugh, fuck proposals. Fuck marriages.

"If he does propose, I'll be a hundred miles away before he can offer to take me home." I say as Ursula smiles.

We were parked in front of the club as someone knocks on Ursula's car door.

Ursula jumps in her seat in surprise and huffs as she sees Kyle smirking at her through the window as she opens the window.

"You scared me! I told you I'd see you inside. I thought you were a serial killer." She tells him with a glare as Kyle chuckles at her.

Banter like this was regular for them. They'd have mini arguments but always make up.

"I missed you too much, babe." He says, smirking down at her before she rolls her eyes, but I can see a tinge of pink on her cheeks.

She opens the car door as Kyle pulls her to him, kissing the top of her head.

Kyle spots me before giving me a smile.

"Hey June. Everything alright?" Kyle asks as I sigh, a fake smile plastered on my face.

Ursula sighs as she faces him.

"We're drinking to forget, Kyle. She's kind of in a sticky situation." She tells him as I nod.

I just wanted to forget it all for a night.

"I see. I hope everything works out for you, June." Kyle tells me as I nod, offering him a small smile.

Kyle has been a friend of mine as well. I find him good for Ursula, although they'd bicker from time to time.

I know deep down they do love each other.

"Let's go drink! It's a good thing I got my report done hours ago." Ursula says as Kyle smiles down at her.

"You mean the english report? I was done with that yesterday." He says with a smirk as Ursula huffs at him.
