Stereotypes (5 of 5)

"What's got you all jumpy?" I hear my teammate, Evangeline ask me.

Evangeline Simmons has been my teammate for 3 consecutive years on cheer. She's one of the best dancers I know.

"Nothing, just got plans I'm excited for." I tell her and she rolls her eyes, huffing.

She doesn't buy any of that.

"Lying is not your forte, stick to cheering okay?" She says and I laugh at her.

I roll my eyes and sigh.

I was telling the truth though, but that wasn't why I was all giddy.

"Hey, Reedley. Nice moves." I hear Todd, one of the football players say as he checks me out.

Could he be any more obvious?

He was one of the sleaziest football players at school. He thought we belonged together since he was said to be good at football.

"Hi Todd. Get to the point." Evangeline says, rolling her eyes.

He huffs at her and moves his gaze back to me.

"Would you like to go out friday night? After my game we can watch a movie or something." He says and I sigh, frowning.

I shake my head and pout at him.

"Aww, that's sweet but I already have plans Friday night." I say and he shrugs with a chuckle.

"Umm, Thursday then?" He asks and I shake my head again.

Evangeline chuckles and sighs at him.

"I don't think she's interested, Todd." Evangeline answers for me and I frown.

Todd rolls his eyes at her and huffs, motioning to me.

"I think she can answer for herself." He says and Evangeline glares back at him.

I sigh and shake my head.

"Todd, you're a nice guy but I'm already taken. Haven't you heard?" I ask him and he shakes his head, a look of surprise on his face.

I thought news spread faster than that.

"I've heard rumours." He says and I chuckle at that.

It was kind of hard to believe.

"They aren't rumours." I say and his eyes widen.

Suddenly the door to the gym opens and as if on cue, my boyfriend walks in to look for me.

He was so adorable.

He sets his gaze to me and I wave at him, before running over and planting a kiss on his lips.

He returns it quickly and I pull away.

"Hi, have you been waiting long?" I ask and he shakes his head, offering to carry my gym bag for me.

I stare back at Todd and see Evangeline smirking at the scene.

"You're actually dating Victors?" He asks and I simply nod.

Evangeline snickers and places a hand on his shoulders.
