Chapter 5: Waking up next to you brings trials of love

The next morning, Zane was up early. He could barely sleep after what he had seen and was very tired. He knew he had to prepare for work so he stood up and stretched before getting dressed and sitting in the window. While looking out of the window, he noticed he had forgotten something that was in his other clothing. He quickly rushed over and looked for it. A small container holding weed, and an unopened wrap. He grabbed it and saw that it was relatively unharmed, and still in good condition to roll up. He began to roll up and he smoked the blunt as he waited to hear the breakfast bell. He thought to himself about how he was going to tell Noelle about it, but he shook his head. He finished about half of the blunt when the breakfast bell was rung. He put out the blunt and walked down to the dining hall before sitting at the table.

Zane would walk to the table and notice he was the first one there. He sat down in his chair he sat last time before Noelle and Brooke both joined him shortly after. Noelle and Brooke would enter the room talking about something, but Zane couldn't quite understand what it was. He disregarded it and he sat down waiting for the food to be placed on the table. Noelle would look at Zane and smile as she gestured to get his attention. "Zane! Good morning! How did you sleep?" She asked with a bright smile on her face, completely different from how Zane had seen her the night prior. "Brooke says you helped her with her boxing? That sounds fun! Maybe one day I can watch the two of you box." She adds looking over at Brooke.

Zane would shake his head and put on a fake smile, as he snapped into reality. "I did. She asked me to, so we boxed. She caught me on the jaw and on my shoulder with some stiff punches." He says, bypassing the question about sleep and looking at Brooke. "You have excellent form, and good technique. But, your style seems to get a little too predictable at times. Your hooks come to frequent and your kicks aren't fast enough. Keep it up, though!" He says with a smile before Noelle gives him a questionable look. "I slept...decently. I had a weird dream." He says sighing as he looks down at his feet and blushes. As he looked down, the food began to get set on the table. He sat in silence as he began to grab various items. Pancakes, eggs, ham, bacon, turkey bacon, fruit salad, and more. Zane would grab his fair share and begin eating without saying another word.

Brooke would listen to the advice and nod. "Thank you, Zane. But, I think I was just working out some things. I would like to train again if that is alright with you sister?" She asked as she began taking her fill. Eventually she got curious and stood up to excuse herself. "Noelle, I would like to ask you something, dear sister!" She says as she pulls her sister's arm and begins speaking to her in the throne room. "Noelle, what did you do last night? You seem to be in a very chipper mood today. So, something is different. What happened?" She asked as she stared into her sisters eyes with a look trying to figure it all out. "I need to know because I have a hunch but I want to see if I'm right." She asked as her eye began to twitch.

Noelle would smile at Zane as he spoke. "I had a dream. It was pretty nice. You were actually in it, Zane." She says smiling as she began to grab her food before she was pulled into a nearby room by Brooke. "Brooke, it isn't nice to ask a lady what she does in her spare time." She said with a smile before she noticed Brooke's eye twitch. "Alright, fine. Last night I might have....sort of, kind of, decided to...you know...?" She says before she saw Brooke get angry. "I masturbated last night! Ok? I figured it would be nice to do that since I was feeling a lot of things." She confesses before turning away from her sister. "I don't know what has you so upset. You do the same thing sometimes, so what is the big problem?" She asks as she begins to walk away, back towards the table only to see Zane standing in the hallway. "Zane, I hope you eat enough because today, we have a lot to do." She says sternly as she walks back into the dining hall, patting the chair next to her for Zane to sit in.

Zane would be getting nervous sitting at the table by himself, as he stood up and followed the ladies after a while and saw Noelle walking down the hallway. "Noelle, I came to look for you and Brooke." She says before hearing her speak and seeing her face. "Yes, your majesty. I am going to finish my meal as we speak." He says as he walks into the dining hall with her and sits next to her. He sat upright and was shaking nervously. He ate his food before looking over at Noelle and blushing as he remembered last night. As he was thinking back to last night, Noelle put her head on his arm with a smile and a content sigh. Zane would tense up for a moment before easing up and blushing more. He smiled slightly and patted her head before relaxing more in his chair.

Brooke would walk in and see the two, with empty plates relaxing. As she prepared to say something she sits in her chair and eats her food instead. As soon as she finishes she stands up and begins to walk out of the room before stopping and turning to her sister and Zane. She quickly glared at Zane before sighing. "Make sure you and my sister are home before late, and if someone tries to hurt her you better make sure that they pay, do you understand? If you fail to meet these two rules for the day, you better not even return. At that point, drop my sister off and start running! If I catch you...you will never be seen again!" She said as she disappeared into the various hallways of the castle.

Zane would nudge Noelle until she woke up. He smiled at her patiently before looking away and blushing. He stood up and began to walk away. "Like you said, we have a lot to do ahead of us. We should get a move on, with them." He says before he tries to walk away. He is stopped when Noelle grabs his arm. She didn't seem like she was going to let go so he turned back to face her and he was immediately surprised to see that she was tearing up. He pulled her in close for a tight hug and he sighed as he did it. "There, there...I'm not mad or upset at you, I promise. Just relax, Noelle. Come on, let's get ready for work. I do have to act as you say 24/7." He says smiling as he tries to let go. She holds on to him tightly and smiles against his chest.

As she held him, he began to blush as he remembered last night. He would feel her grip loosen before he looked at her and saw she had passed out, having not slept enough the night before. He sighed and picked her up before carrying her to her bedroom and laying her in her bed. He picked up her bell and set it next to her bed and smiles as he begins to walk out. However, he hears her whine when he opens the door. He turns back and stands next to her bed looking down at her. She makes grabby hands at him and whines more. Zane would sigh and give her a hug before standing up. She turned around and relaxed in the bed before patting the space next to her. "You want me to lay with you?" He asked confused as he looked down at her. She began to nod and smile as she made space for him. He smiled slightly and rolled his eyes before curling up on the bed beside her, laying on his back. "There is this better?" He asked before she took his arm, wrapped it around her shoulder and laid on his chest holding him close as she nodded.
