Gally Imagines

=SEVEN= "If you hurt her, I'll murder you!"

[Okay, Gladers, quick announcement about this Imagine! So, I wanted to create sort of an antagonist for Gally and yourself, because...to be honest I didn't want to make any of the "known" characters evil (like Thomas, or Zart, etc.). X) So, I actually looked on the Maze "Wall" (in the movie, you know where all of the boys etch in their name), and decided on one of those names: Dan. I'm not sure how that whole 'copyright' thing works by me doing this, but no copyright (if any) intended and...yeah. Anyway, enjoy! xD]

There was the loud, clanking sound once more, and sunlight began to filter through the crack in the doors, which rapidly expanded with each inch the doors opened. As they slid apart from each other, they revealed crowd of Gladers behind them, standing as close as they dared, peering in, some faces concerned, some worried, and others simply curious.

Gally strode firmly without breaking stride, jaw set, eyes dead ahead. Ever since he had found out about your injured leg, he had insisted on carrying you bridal-style (with one arm wrapped tightly around your back, the other underneath your legs) and refused to set you down, mumbling something about the Medjacks looking your leg over. But you were hardly complaining. Your head rested on his chest, moving up and down with the rhythm of his breathing, nestled in his strong grasp, holding you close. Had it not been for the throbbing pain in your leg, you would have been euphoric.

Gally stepped onto the grass and the boys parted slowly so as not to be trampled by him. They all looked shocked at our arrival, continuing to stare, some with mouths open.

"What?" Gally snapped at their gaping, "It's not like surviving a night in the Maze hasn't been done before," he glanced at Thomas as if proving his point before yelling, "Where are the Medjacks!?"

Clint and Jeff ran over immediately, and Gally made a motion as if to set you down on the grass, but the crowd of riveted boys must have changed his mind.

"Not here," he said, starting off towards the cluster of huts, "Move, you Shanks!"

The Gladers skittered out of Gally's path, but continued to stare, their gaze following you, Gally, and the Medjacks, who were quickly trailing behind to keep up with Gally's stride. Gally ducked inside a hut, walked you to a nearby bed, and then set you gently down on its soft surface.

"She gonna be okay?" Gally asked curtly as Clint examined the cut, your leg smeared with dry blood.

"It looks worse than it actually is," he said, "Once we get the blood washed away, it should bandage up nicely."

"Fine," came Gally's abrupt, unemotional answer before, to your astonished disappointment, turning and shifting his body out of the small hut door.

You laid back on the pillow, as Clint left to get some water for your leg, listening to the noises outside. You were back in the Glade. You were safe. You were alone.

You sighed. But then, from outside of the hut you began to detect raised voices, and with a joyous realization realized that one of the voices belonged to Gally!

"Gally, the girl is still going to cause us problems, you know this, right?" you heard Alby say. "Once it's agreed she stays, there is no going back on that decision."

"I changed my mind about her, okay?!" replied Gally, his voice strained, obviously uncomfortable about the entire conversation. "She saved my life; I would have been stung if not for her! If nothing else, she deserves to stay!"

"All right, then," came Alby's answer. "But we'll have to settle the...complications," then he went on, "As for you, Gally, you broke the rules."

There was a long pause, giving you time to think. Gally had broken the rules. This was unlike him because he was all about rules. But he had broken them...for you. He had violated something so important to him...for your safety. You could hardly believe that he would do that...for you! With every passing moment your respect and love for him grew and grew!
