You walked through the woods, following a small stream. Birds chirped in the concealment of the leaf-covered branches above your head, happily flitting here and there. You moved a branch out of your way, carefully ducking underneath it so that it didn't swing back and smack you in the face. Patterns of light danced across the ground as it came through the trees that blew ever so softly in the slight breeze. Then you came around a tree, and there he was! Gally! Or, rather his broad-shouldered back, which was bent over, stooping to pick up a stick, his arms already full of them. You ran your fingers through your hair, smoothing down the fly-aways, and tugged at the bottom of your shirt to pull out the wrinkles before stepping into view.

"Gally."

You saw him freeze slightly in the process of straightening up, but he quickly recovered and slowly and placed the piece of wood across the others already in his arms. You locked eyes, but he quickly broke the gaze, glancing around at the forest floor, you guessed for more sticks. That was it. You were determined. Fully and completely. You would not leave without an answer, and a good one at that.

"Gally," you repeated.

"What?"

You paused, but only for a moment. You weren't about to chicken out now!

"Do you love me?"

He looked extremely taken aback at your sudden bluntness, and you could have sworn that you saw him blush before he quickly turned his back to you.

After a long pause you heard him softly say, "Yes."

"Really?" you asked, a bit doubtfully.

"Yes," he said again, then added, "Why else would I have pulverized Dan, huh?"

"Gally, do you love me?" You wanted to hear him say it. Those three little words.

"Of course I do, Greenie," he said, in the way that he knew greatly annoyed you, his back still to you.

"Stop calling me that! Now do you love me or don't you!?" You were getting angry now, and it was either lose your temper or cry, and if he didn't do something soon, it would probably be both.

"Of course I do!" He snapped, turning around to face you again.

"Oh-ho really?!" you said exasperatedly.

"Yeah, really!"

"Than PROVE IT!" You screamed.

Suddenly, without any warning, Gally threw the firewood to the ground and flung you against the nearest tree, smashing his mouth into yours. You were taken aback at first, but that quickly turned into insane delight. His jaw worked furiously against yours, as if only to prove himself, but soon the anger that had arisen in him and spurred him on began to slowly fade, and you realized that the kisses he was pushing upon you were becoming less and less forceful, and instead, longer and slower and more lingering. Then you felt his hands at the back of your waist, and his arms circled around you as he pulled you closer to him, kissing you deeper. You raised your arms and wrapped them around his neck, knowing that this had to be a dream, and at any moment you would wake up. But it wasn't, and you didn't!

"I love you," Gally said forcefully, pausing between kisses to touching his nose to yours, eyes glowing.

Joy bubbled up from inside you as he said the words in his deep, strong voice, and you wrapped your arms more tightly around his neck.

"Now, was that so hard?" you asked happily gazing into his eyes.

"Apparently," he replied smiling, then leaned in to kiss you again.
