You hunched while you ran, trying to bend over enough to stay out of torchlight, but not enough to smoosh the food concealed beneath your jacket at the same time. You kept out of sight as best you could, making your way towards the Pit. Towards Gally. Butterflies filled your stomach. You couldn't get him out-where was he supposed to go anyway, and that would probably end up just getting him into even more trouble than he was already in-but you were determined to bring him food. That was the only perk about being on dumb kitchen duty. You were reminded of all of the grimy pots, incrusted pans, smeared plates and sticky utensils that you were forced to wash that day and shuddered.

Finally reaching the Pit, you ducked down and peered through the wooden bars lashed together thickly with twine. All was still and dark.

"Gally," you called softly, kneeling in the grass.

You could hear the sound of slight movement as gravel was disturbed, and then Gally's whisper, "Y/N? What are you doing here?"

Gally's silhouette immerged from the shadows as he moved closer to the bars, and then came into view, softly lit by torchlight. For about the one-hundredth time you realized how blessed you were to have Gally love you. He was so strong, so wonderful, so amazing. Gally.

"You should go," he said, still whispering, "I don't want you to get in trouble!"

"What are they going to do to me? Throw me in the Pit?" you winked. "Here, I brought you some food." You wrestled the bulging lump of cloth out from underneath your jacket, somewhat proud to see that it hadn't been damaged too badly.

"Whoa, that's a lot! Won't Frypan miss it?" asked Gally.

"Probably not," you said. Lies. "But if he does I'll just say that I got hungry."

"Even you wouldn't eat that much."

"Well, I can take it back if you don't want it," you said in a joking-tone.

"Hand it here," Gally said, ready to take it.

You were about to oblige him and pass it through the bars when you reconsidered.

"What are you willing to do for this food?" you asked craftily, examining the tied-up bundle.

"What?" asked Gally, "You mean, like a bribe?"

You nodded.

Gally looked down for a moment, as if considering his options, then he looked up suddenly, a smile beginning to form, "How about a kiss?" he said, eyebrow cocked.

You paused to consider.

"Going once...going twice..."

"Through the bars?" you asked. "I'm not opening that door and getting you in trouble, again."

"Through the bars," he nodded.

You paused a moment, then consented, smiling and placing your hand on a wooden bar, leaning closer to where he was. Gally did likewise, and you leaned in and closed your eyes waiting for his lips to brush yours, when all of a sudden your eyes shot open to find that the bundle of food had been yanked from your hand, and that Gally had jumped backwards out of reach, tearing into it with a goofy, childish, triumphant grin on his face.

"Cheese, nice!" he said, pulling out the hunk along with a piece of bread. Grapes fell through the open crevices in the cloth and bounced onto the gravel at his feet.

"Gally!" you said, but couldn't help smiling. Your (unofficial) boyfriend had gotten the better of you. This time. Still smiling, you stood up and brushed off the grass blades that had collected on your jeans, "You still owe me a kiss. Goodnight, Gally."

"M-Nwite," you heard him say, mouth full.

You turned and started to walk back to the Kitchen when you heard what you had been waiting hopefully for: Gally calling your name, beckoning you back. You smiled again as you turned around, but instead of a torch-lit view of Gally behind the bars of the Pit, you were met with instant darkness. You shook your head rapidly and pulled off the cloth that Gally had thrown in your face.

"Can't let them catch me with that in the morning," he grinned, popping a grape into his mouth.

He looked so cute that you couldn't persuade yourself to get angry with him, so instead, you just laughed and shook your head. "Goodnight, Gally."

"Goodnight, Y/N. See you in the morning."
