You sauntered along slowly, sidestepping a large puddle and enjoying the cool breeze that blew through the Glade as well as the warm sun that had finally broken through the clouds. It had been raining nonstop for about a week, a heavy, drenching downpour which left the glad in a marshy-wet state with large puddles everywhere. In the distance you could hear the sound of hammers striking metal, and occasionally wood. The Builders. Gally! And of course that was the direction in which you were heading.

After the incident in the woods, you two weren't actually "official" because Alby would probably not allow it, and you didn't want to test your luck just yet, but you and Gally were as officially (un)official as you could get until then! You constantly received sidelong glances from Gally which you returned just as frequently. You hardly got to spend any time with him though, what with his demanding job and the previous rainstorm, but now that it was sunny you were determined that you guys would spend some time together, and you knew just the spot.

The Builders came into view, hammering away in the sunshine, their broad backs wet with sweat, some glistened bare, shirts wadded in a heap on a dry patch of grass or carelessly thrown over some object within range. It only took a moment for you to locate Gally. Even with his shirt still on, clinging damply to his upper body, you could tell that he was the fittest and strongest of the Gladers. Pleased to find him set apart a little from the other Builders (quite near the edge of the woods), you walked around to his back, trying to avoid being seen by the other Builders as well as your unofficial boyfriend. Gally was kneeling down, the knees of his pants soaked and grass-stained, having just finished hammering a nail in place, when you seized your opportunity and stepped up behind him, covering his eyes with your hands.

"What the--?!" you heard him exclaim, then felt his cheeks lift into a smile as he realized that it was you.

Gally dropped his hammer and slowly reached his hands up and wrapped his fingers around yours, pulling them down out of his eyes and around his neck, forcing you closer to him.

"Hieeey," he said with a totally adorable smile, turning his head so that his nose touched yours.

"Hey." You giggled as he nuzzled his nose against yours. Then you pulled back a little, assuming a pouty face, "Are you almost doooone? You've been working for foreeeever!" you playfully whined.

To your satisfaction this made Gally smile even wider, exposing white teeth, "You know I'm not allowed leisure time during the day, except for my lunch break," he said.

"Yeah, but that was over like an hour ago!" you said, still in your whiny voice, "I want to spend time with you nooow!"

"I've got to finish this," he said, "and you'd better go before Alby catches you." He let go of your hands and slid his up and down your arms.

Oh good Grievers! he was determined when he wanted to be, but you were even more so, and weren't about to be sent off that easily.

"Fine," You let out a long, sorrowful sigh and stood up, his hands sliding gently off of your arms as you did so, Gally apparently thinking that that was all the discussion there was going to be; however, you were almost to the wood-line before you turned around smiling in what you hoped to be your most alluring smile.

"But I'll be waiting for you in the woods. You know, just in case you change your minnnnd..."

You let the sentence trail off in an enticing offer as you turned around and entered the line of trees-turning back briefly to see Gally's torn expression, looking from the hammer that he had picked up, then back to the woods after your retreating form, weighing his options-and burst into a smile as you saw him toss the hammer aside and come striding after you.
