You shifted slightly, feeling the soft covers gently wrapped around you. Gradually, events of the previous day began entering your mind; Gally...Dan...regained memories...

You shifted again, then slowly opened your eyes. Upon doing so, the first thing you saw was Gally propped up on his elbow, his green eyes gazing into yours, a soft smile at the corner of his mouth as he looked at you.

A slight flush of embarrassment touched your cheeks as you realized that he had been watching you sleep for who knows how long; then you buried half your face in the pillow, smiling a little and hoping that he wouldn't notice. "Good morning."

"Hi," he whispered, the grin spreading across his mouth.

"How long have you been up?" you asked casually, unable to smother your curiosity.

"Not long," he answered in the same whisper as before, his eyes slowly wondering across your face. "I just can't get over how beautiful you are."

"Gally..." you knew you were visibly blushing now.

"I'm serious," he said, his voice deep and husky. "You have absolutely no idea."

A rush of warmth filled your stomach, and you closed your eyes briefly, too embarrassed to look at him.

Then his smile fell a little. "I saw you every day these past few weeks, but I never really, fully let myself look at you. I knew that if I were to let my guard down and really see you for who you are then I would fall in love with you, and I didn't want to hurt you. You had this preconceived idea of who I should have been—before my memories were taken—and I didn't want to let you down by being unable to live up to that..." he paused, trying to come up with the right word, "...that 'old me' I couldn't remember."

There was a moment of silence as you let what Gally had just said sink in.

"But now, I do remember," he said, removing his head from his hand and sliding down into the covers eye-level with you, his nose inches from yours. "But more importantly, I remember you."

You smiled softly and dropped your gaze, unable to withstand his intense, loving stare. You felt warm all over, as if Gally's words had seeped into your heart, creating a fire that was tenderly melting you from the inside out. You were warm, and safe, and happy, laying here alone with the most amazing boy in all of the Glade. Gally. He was back! And he loved you—he really loved you.

You felt Gally's fingers gently graze your forehead as he slid a few loose strands of hair out of your face, tucking them behind your ear. You watched his chest rise and fall; a steady, even rhythm; soothing, calming. Then his fingers trailed down the side of your face, gently caressing your chin with his thumb. You closed your eyes, and a moment later your stomach leapt as his lips touched yours. The sensation spread as he slid his hand to the back of your neck, shooting tingles down your spine as his kiss gained more depth. He broke the kiss only to lay a harder one on you, sliding his other arm beneath you, pressing his hand into the small of your back. You let out a brief moan as he pulled you closer to him, pressing his mouth into yours. You put a hand to his solid chest, spreading your fingers out, creating folded wrinkles in his thin t-shirt which vanished as your palms flattened against him. He kissed you again and again, each one with less and less break in between, pulling you yet closer to him.

Suddenly there was a sharp rap on the door, jarring you both.

"Gally, Y/N. Council hut—five minutes." You recognized the accent.

Gally closed his eyes in annoyance. "I hate these bloody interruptions."

You made a face in agreement, then laughed as Gally pressed his lips into yours a few more times before forcing himself to pull back a bit, his arms still around you. You looked at him, noting his uneven breathing and half smile; then it began to fade along with the rapid rising and falling of his chest as his breathing leveled out.
