Just rest for a while

“Who the hell is she? I don’t know why but there is something about her that I don’t like,” I said to King pacing. Something was off here and I didn’t like not knowing.”Something is going on that I am not seeing” I added after a couple of seconds of silence.

“But why Felicia out of all people gives you the creeps?” King asked. I shrugged my shoulders.

“It’s just….something I don’t know,” I said running my hands through my hair. King grabbed my arm to stop my pacing.

“It’s enough. I’ve been sitting in the background letting you handle things as Luna but I thinks its time that I step up,” King said.

“But I don’t mind my Luna duties,” I said trying to find a reason to make his proposition unreasonable. But I couldn’t because he was after all Alpha.

“You need a break. Just relax and let me handle everything okay?” King said bringing  me on his lap on the bed. I felt comfort in his embrace but that still didn’t settle my mind completely. Why do I feel something foreboding is coming on its way?

*King P.O.V*

My mate fell asleep in my arms. I wanted to check on Reed and I’m guessing that Clide would be by her side being that their mates and all. I would be lying if I wasn’t happy that Clide’s crush on Kaiya was gone because of Reed. I owe Reed a favor. I made my way to her house opening the door without knocking. Man I wish I knocked. Reed was straddling Clide on the floor in the middle of the hallway. Sweat coated their skin and I cover my eyes and groaned disgusted. I heard and moan and I almost vomited. They were really into what they were doing because they should have heard me by now.

“Yeah okay ill come back later then,” I said fumbling with the door with my eyes still closed.  I heard someone gasped and I heard shuffling.

“How long have you been there!?” Reed asked exclaiming. I heard Clide curse.

“Well not long but I still want to throw up,” I said faking a gag. Clide chuckled and I heard skin against skin.

“Ow,” Clide said.

“Were dressed now,” Reed said. I uncovered my face hesitantly and noticed a blush that was set on Reeds cheeks. I chuckled at her embarrassment. Kaiya and I were far from being embarrassed or shy anymore.

“Well I didn’t mean to catch yall in the act but I wanted to check on that cabin that I told you to add with the project,” I said. Reed nods her head and sighs.

“Why do you want it anyways? I mean you have like a huge mansion anyways,” Reed asked. I laughed and ran my hands through my hair.

“Its because the lake is one of Kaiya’s favorite places,” I said recalling the time we had there.

“Ohhhhh,” Reed said dragging out the word. I rolled my eyes at her. Clide grabbed her hand and kissed it chuckling. The moment was intimate and I felt the air charge between them. I shifted feeling uncomfortable,

“Well, yeah, im gonna go,” I said grabbing the door knob. I opened it and before I left I turned to Reed. “By the way. I owe you,” I said laughing at Reeds confused expression. I left and took a stroll around the area. Some of the pack members smiled at me while others bowed. I felt important and I liked the feeling. I didn’t let it get to my head because I knew that Kaiya would never let her role in the pack get to her head. I frowned at the thought of her. I didn’t want her to stress anymore and it was time to step up and be a man. I was shocked to see her outside talking Antonio. I walked up to them and wrapped my arm around her waist.

“Hey love,” Kiaya said cutting her conversation with Antonio short. I kissed her.

“Go ahead keep talking. I didn’t mean to interrupt. It seems like that’s what I’ve been doing that  today,” I said laughing. Kaiya lift up a brow as if to ask me what I was talking about. “I’ll tell you later,” I said shivering. Kaiya shrugged and brought her attention back to Antonio who was waiting patiently to continue talking to Kiaya.

“Good evening Alpha. We haven’t seen any rogue sightings during our turn of patrol,” Antonio said to Kaiya. And then bowed to the both of us and walked away. I raised a brow at his abrupt drop on their conversation but didn’t say anything more. I looked at Kiaya and scowled at her.

“I thought I said that I was going to take of everything for a while?” I asked. Kaiya sighed and ran her hands through her hair.

“ I just cant stand not doing anything,” she said. I sighed

“Its only been a couple of hours,” I told her exasperated. Kaiya shrugged and I groaned in frustration.

“Kaiya just do as your told and listen to me,” I said. Her eyes grew dark and she narrowed them at me.

“No one tells me what to do,” Kaiya said through clenched teeth. I sucked in a breath to stop my growl but it happened anyways.

“Your right. No one is supposed to tell you what to do but as your Alpha listen to what I say,” I said in a husky voice. Antonie was at the surface. My Alpha blood was boiling from the challenge even if it was from the Luna. Of course we wouldn’t hurt Kiaya but her wolf needed to know its place.

“Don’t growl at me King,” Kiaya said in a low voice. Right now we were both fighting our wolves.

“For goodness sakes Kiaya I just want you to rest and as Alpha I think its time I take control,” I said rolling my eyes.

“So your saying that im weak” Kiaya asked her voice laced with hurt and anger.

“Im not calling you weak. All im saying is that you need a break. Superman needed some time off every once in a while too,” I said frowning. She was beginning to piss me off.

“I said Im fine,” Kiaya said stubbornly. I narrowed my eyes at her.

“Kiaya. Just sit the hell down and relax for once in your life. I am here for a reason. Am I or am I not your mate?” I asked hiding the hurt in my voice. I felt as if she thought that I wasn’t good enough. Her eyes softened and I knew that she was going to listen to me. She sighed.

“Okay,” was all she said before walking away without muttering another word.

“Macclain I need to speak to you,” I said to her after a pause in the conversation she was having with another girl from the pack. Macclain cheeks flushed and the other girls face turned red also. She bowed to me and basically ran away from me. I found it funny.

“Yes Alpha?” Macclain asked her full attention on me. I smiled down at her.

“Have you talk to your old pack members recently? I wanted to make sure if they stared to pack for their leave?” I asked. Macclain blushed again and looked away from me. Why we she so shy? We were only two years apart so I didn’t get why she was acting all embarrassed.

“Um I think my brother talked to Asha, one of the pack members there. You should ask him. He really didn’t tell me anything,” Macclain said. I nod my head and sighed. I did not want to go back and catch them having sex again. It was a sight that would be forever burned in my memories. I shuddered at the thought.

“Hey whats wrong?” Macclain asked touching my arm. My wolf cringed at the touch of another female. I casually moved her hand from my arm.

“Im fine. I was just remembering something that I wish I didn’t remember,” I said. Macclain smiled shyly at me which confused me. “Yeeeeeahh ill see you later,” I said awkwardly. Her face turned beat red as I walked away.
