YEARS APART

You

It was a normal day in high school, where all the boys were studying, as usual. It has been almost a month since the school started, and the boys got very well with the new environment.
Jeongin walked alone in the hallway, heading to meet the others. As he arrived, he saw a familiar face.
"Lia !" He thought to himself when he saw her, standing with the boys. He felt his chest relieved, and his heart beating, because finally after all this time, he could see her.
He walked slowly toward the boys, gazing at Lia. Seungmin and Changbin noticed him coming from afar, and waved at him.
"Look who's coming " Seungmin said
"Ohoo speaking of the devil" chan said with a smirk.
Jeongin joined the boys and greeted them, he then shyly looked at Lia and welcomed her.

"What are you doing here ?" He asked her, wanting to know what brings her here, since she attends to another high school.

"Well, you should welcome me Jeongin, i'm officially a new student here" she said with excitement. Jeongin's eyes widened hearing this news. "That means i'll be able to see your face everyday" he thought to himself. He was super happy and couldn't hide his happiness. The boys noticed his excitement, and laughed slightly at him. Only one, felt a bit uncomfortable with this news. It was Hyunjin.
They all returned to their classes, and finished the rest of the day.

Hyunjin's house

The boys, except for Seungmin and Changbin, were all at Hyunjin's place. They planned to go and play the latest version of Call of Duty together. Hyunjin changed his clothes and joined them.

"Yaah Hyunjinaa ! I really like your new hair very much" Jeongin commented while playing with Hyunjin's hair. The other chuckled and said

"Yeah me too ! I think i look better now"

"You surly do"

They played the game. Chan, felix, Jeongin, minho and Hyunjin. After some time, chan and Felix decided to leave.
"Well, we'll be leaving the besties together !" chan said and left with felix to the kitchen to grab food.
By saying « besties » he meant Hyunjin, Jeongin, minho and the missing Seungmin. Those four were all really close to each other, since their childhood.
Jeongin knew Seungmin and minho before Hyunjin, and they were his close friends. But when he met Hyunjin, they became more close than the other two. They both lived similar lifes, and experienced the same pain, making them understand each other the most.
Hyunjin, even when he faced all that ignorance, neglect and emotional distanciation from his parents, he managed to overcome all the negative feelings, due to his strong personality. However, on the other hand, Jeongin wasn't as brave as him. Jeongin lived all his childhood apart from his mother, he could see her only once in a month. His father was a busy man, who didn't care about his child, but only his work. Things started to brighten up a little bit for him when his mother finally came home, he was 11 years old. Then his father faced a great loss in his business, causing him to become nervous, and anxious. He would constantly fight with his mother, and ruin the house. Jeongin as a kid, couldn't take this. Seeing his parents continuous encounters made him a bit depressed. He was a soft, sweet boy, who can't endure living in that environment.
Despite having all those problems, Jeongin always had a smile on his face. He was the most cheerful person, and very good at hiding his emotions, from all his surroundings, but not Hyunjin. Hyunjin was his refuge, his place where he could go and hide, and feel secure.

Everytime his father would start a fight, he goes directly to Hyunjin, And without a word, Hyunjin understood him.both shared more than just happy smiles, and beautiful memories. They shared pain, tears and comfort, making their relationship the strongest.
Hyunjin, Seungmin and minho were Jeongin's true fortune in his life, and he didn't want to ever lose them.

Jeongin took his phone, wanting to take a photo with Hyunjin. The other obeyed him, and fixed his hair.
