" Charles, The Bang family's eldest son, Bang Chan's older brother "
Both Inhyeong and her father were shocked upon hearing Hyorine's words. How? Why? there was only questions in their eyes that Charles noticed.
" Is this... real ? " Mr Kim asked calmly while looking at Charles who smiled at him and nodded. Out of words, Mr Kim gazed at him surprised then looked at the ground, trying to gather his thoughts.
" No worries Mr Kim, I did it while being fully convinced of my own actions " His eyes switched smoothly towards Inhyeong who was still shocked but didn't utter a single word
" Even if it meant being called a monster or labelled as one, I don't regret what I did. I came ready and prepared for all the possibilities "
" You're not a monster " Charles looked at Hyorine who spoke
" You are a person who stands for what he believes in, so you shouldn't pay attention to what others may think about you " She looked at Zack who bowed and went to do something , then looked at Charles with a smile while gently patting his left shoulder
" Instead of a monster, I'd prefer calling you a Paladin. A brave one " Charles seemed amazed for a moment then smiled at Hyorine.
" You two have a great relationship " They both looked at Mr Kim who spoke suddenly. He looked at Charles as he stepped forward to him
" We went through a lot, Me and you. Although you are one of that family, you never harmed me. I always thought of you as my own son, Charles " He took a deep breath and continued
" Haiz, the past is the past and I don't plan on looking back. I moved on just like everybody else did. I started another life and completely distanced myself from that world. But I never forgot all the pain and problems we faced back then. Everything was gone overnight, and I was suddenly tossed away with no one by my side. It was surely though and cruel, how harsh life can be sometimes. I once wondered, how will god punish those who were the cause of my misery. The ones who were enjoying their lives as if nothing happened while I struggled just to provide a decent meal for my family. I was angry every time I saw their faces on TV or anywhere... " Mr Kim stopped then looked at Charles as a faint smile formed on his lips
" Yet, I never imagined that one of their own, Their own child will be their worst nightmares and the one who avenges me " Charles didn't say anything, and silence filled the place for a moment. Mr Kim sighed then patted Charles' shoulder and continued
"I'm happy to see you doing well. You've grown so much since then, and seeing you fine and well comforts me. You even got some friends on your side that you depend on, so I'm truly happy for you " as he finished, Charles held his hand that patted his shoulder and replied
" I'm happy that you're doing well too, Mr Kim " Charles uttered and they smiled at each other. Hyorine noticed Zack coming in with a file, so she moved aside and took it from him. she then walked back to her place beside Charles and said
"Now that the old relationships are reconnected, I think it's the perfect time to create new ones " She opened the file while Mr Kim looked at her confused. She looked at him and pointed with her hand towards the sofa, signalling him to sit back, and so he followed.
