I nervously tap my feet against the floor. I am waiting for the old lady at the reception to give me my documents and my key from my dorm room.
I flew to here like, not even an hour ago. I had to say goodbye to all my friends and teammates, who feel more like my family than anything else.
"And here is your key", the old lady speaks up out of nowhere, which kind of scared me because I was so in my thoughts. "Thank you very much", I smile politely as I take the piece of metal out of her hand. I throw my backpack over my shoulder and take my luggage in my hand. I walk towards the elevator and get in. The doors close behind me, leaving me alone. I step out of the cabin on the second floor and walk to the 214 dorm-room.
I open the door with the key, the old woman gave me. When I walk into the room, I see someone laying on one of the two beds. When she hears me, she looks up.
She gets up from the bed and walk over to me, "hii I am Y/n, you're roommate". She smiles brightly at me. She has short, brown hair and beautiful blue and green eyes. "Let me help you with that", she says and takes the luggage over from me. I can see her biceps from using efforts to carry the luggage.
"I am Mallory", I flash her my infamous smile. I close the door behind me and follow her to my bed. "I know. You play for uswnt, right?", the short haired girl throws my luggage on my unmade bed.
"Yeah", I sigh and smile. I kind of miss my teammates already. Especially the younger ones. We always joke together and get along a little bit better with each other than with the others. It's because we're closer at age, so I don't really feel like the baby of the team. They still treat me like that though. Sometimes it is annoying. Though, being the Preath child is really fun. They both are amazing people.
"Do you play soccer as well?", I ask, curious as to why my roommate is here. "Yeah, I am here on a scholarship for soccer and I'm going to study mechanical engineering".
"Oh that's nice. So we are going to play together!", I excitedly bounce up and down. This means I have already met one of my future teammates. And she is nice and cute.
I start unpacking my stuff, putting my clothes in my closet and my toothbrush and stuff like that into the bathroom. The whole time, Y/n stayed here while I was unpacking. Occasionally asking if I want something to drink or to eat and if she can help or not.
"Hey mal?", I hear y/n call from the bathroom.
"Yeah?"
"Do you maybe want to go eat something with me?"
I look at the clock and realise that it is already 6 o'clock, which means dinnertime. "Yeah sure!", I call back. Maybe we can walk around campus, getting to know our college better.
I quickly send a text to Christen, letting her know that my flight went good and that I've already settled in into my dorm.
Christen: That's good. If you need anything just text me, Mally. I love you ;)
Mal: Thank you, Chris. Love you too 🥰
"You ready?", Y/n asks while she puts on a hoodie and her shoes. I quickly put on my shoes and take a sweatshirt with me, tying it around my waist. "Yes", we walk out of the door.

We walk around campus. "I'm hungryy", Y/n whines and stomps her feet on the ground.
"Patience, we will get food eventually". We have been walking around the campus for quiet some time now, and we still haven't found a place to eat. And I know i've seen this place for five times already, but Y/n says she knows the way so I just follow her. Though, I'm starting to doubt her sense of geography.
"Ooh Mal look!", Y/n jumps up and down excitedly. "A McDonalds". I look at where she is pointing at. "Cmon Mal", she takes my hand and starts running to the McDonalds, pulling me with her. I laugh at her childish behaviour, which definitely matches mine. It reminds me of some of my teammates, like Megan. If they would meet, they would definitely get along well.
We both order a menu and had a little banter about we pays. Y/n paid, but only because she was faster than me. We sit down and talk about our pasts.
"So, like you lost because you squirted orange juice in your eyes? And that's why you don't eat oranges anymore?", I laugh loudly, covering my mouth with my hand.
She pouts, which makes me aw at the inside. She is really cute. Like how her dimples show when she smiles or laugh or how her ears twitch.
"Stop laughing at me", she pouts " oranges are like the devil. They tried to make me blind".
"Yeah yeah", I giggle, trying to stop laughing. I wipe away the tears with my napkin.
"Are you going to eat that?", she asks and points to the few chicken nuggets left. I shake my head and shove them to her. She starts munching on them happily, just like a little child.
I feel like we could get along really well.

Hey guys, first chapter's up. I'm excited to know what you think about it. Let me know!I just want to let you know that I don't really know a lot about the soccer teams and like terms and stuff like that. Also English isn't my first language, so I apologise for the mistakes!
Enjoy it ;).
