"What's wrong?", Christen asks Mallory as the younger girl comes into the dining room, her eyes red and puffy from crying.
Everyone turns to look at them. I hadn't heard anything from Mallory this morning. Despite being roommates, I hadn't seen her until now. When I woke up, she already had left. I don't know where she was or what she was doing, but I didn't really think something was wrong. But obviously something is definitely wrong. This makes me feel like a bad friend. I should've known something was wrong the moment I knew she wasn't in our hotelroom.
"Dansby cheated on me", Mal sniffles and rubs her eyes, trying to get rid off the tears. I pull her in a hug when she is standing next to my seat.
"Oh baby. He didn't deserve you", Christen comforts her as she rubs her back reassuringly.
"I know", Mal sniffs "he was an ass".
We all chuckle at the younger girl, not expecting this. Maybe it's good she thinks that. She would get over him easier.
"Why don't we go to a club to cheer Mallory up", Kelley proposes excitedly. I know she does this because she wants to go drink. I heard her talking about it yesterday to some other teammates about how she wanted to go out. Although she's kind of mean of taking advantage of this moment, it's a good idea to get Mal out of here and let her have some fun.
"Okay, but don't drink too much", Carli warns us.
We all agree and someone indicates a designated driver. Even though we don't have a car. We will be walking, but if we're all drunk it will be difficult. And we need someone to stop us from doing stupid shit that will end up in the media.
The rest of the day is spent watching movies and eating us full with junkfood and candy. Mal decided to watch a Disney movie. We were cuddled up while watching Lilo & stitch for the hundred time since I've known her. I like the movie too, but I'm not as obsessed as her. Don't tell her though. I only watch it this many times because it makes her happy and I like to see her happy. It makes me feel good, knowing I caused it.
When it's evening and everyone has eaten, we all go separate ways to get dressed for our night out. Mal went to get ready with Rose and Lindsey etc.
I've never really been out, so I don't really know what to wear. I send a text message to Ashlyn and she tells me she will be there in a minute.
Five minutes later, someone knocks on the door. When I open it, I see Ashlyn and Ali. I greet them and let them in. "Thank you for helping me", I scratch the back of my neck nervously and smile shyly.
"Of course, Y/nn", Ashlyn smiles brightly as she goes through my clothes in the closer, searching something for me to wear.
"How have you been, Y/n?", Ali asks softly as she sits down on the bed next to me. Ashlyn has already told her. She had sent me a text saying she couldn't keep it a secret anymore and I had agreed to let her tell everything to Ali. Now the two have been like sisters to me. Always looking out for me. It's nice.
"I'm good", I smile at her. 'Even better now that Mal is single again', I think but don't say out loud.
"Are you happy that Mallory and Dansby broke up?", she asks me carefully. It's like she can read my mind.
"I don't know. I just want her to be happy", I answer honestly. I want her happy. Most of all, I want her to be happy with me. But if she doesn't feel the same or doesn't want that, who am I to hold her back?
"Are you going to confess your feelings for her?", Ashlyn asks as her face is still buried in my closet, looking through literally everything. It makes me blush, knowing she can see mu underwear and stuff like that.
